🌧 A Rainy Dragon(Malleus/Yuu)

It was raining at NRC once classes were done. Malleus was on his way to meet up with Lilia at their dorm. He was walking by himself in the rain. Normally, Sebek and Silver would accompany him, but they had classes so he preferred to walk. Not that he minded. For some reason, Malleus liked rainy days. They seemed more peaceful, especially when there is no one around because of the weather.

"Malleus!"

"Hm?"

The disamonia student heard a voice and running footsteps gaining on him. He stopped walking and turned around, his eyebrows rose in surprise at who it was. The Ramshackle prefect, Yuu, was running to him with an umbrella in her hands. "Hey, Malleus! What are you doing out in the rain without an umbrella?" She asked him, arriving at his side.

He was soaking wet. His clothes soaked and hair drenched and there were drops of water dripping from his horns. "Ah. Child of man. I was just on my way back to my dorm to meet up with Lilia" he explained as the prefect stood on their tiptoes so that the umbrella could cover his head. But it was hard when the horns made him taller and she didn't want it poking through the umbrella otherwise it would tear.

"Ok. But how come you don't have an umbrella? And where's Silver and Sebek?" She asked him, knowing that usually those two are always with him. Malleus noticed her struggle from the way she stuck her tongue out. He softly smiled, finding it cute with her unusual reactions. It was quite pleasant to him.

"Normally, they are. But Silver and Sebek have classes, so I chose to walk instead" he explained, assisting the prefect by lowering his head so she can get the umbrella over him. "Shouldn't you have waited for him?" She asked curiously as they started walking.

Malleus smiled at her, finding it amusing that she was asking him these questions without fear. Most would hesitate to ask him anything. And if they did, they would stutter in fear. Not her. Yuu somehow had the confidence to talk to him to full sentences.

"Perhaps. But I quite like the rain. It's quite calming. And with no one around, it's easier to enjoy a nice quiet walk. Well, except this time" he explained, glancing at her. Yuu smiled sheepishly at him.

"Sorry about that. But I saw you from over there by the staircase and well, I was worried you were gonna catch a cold if you walked in this weather" she explained to him as they proceeded to walk.

"The staircase?" Malleus said surprised, looking behind him. He saw it was pretty far away. "You ran from all the way there just to shield me from the rain?" He asked her as she nodded yes to confirm it. "That is quite a long walk. Not to mention if you were running, you would've likely slipped and fell" he mentioned to her as Yuu noticed how the waterdrops trinkled down his horns, leaving a nice shine to it.

"Well, ya. But I bet even the mighty Draconia would surely fall in battle with the rain and suffer a blow from the flu" she joked with him, making him chuckle fondly at that joke. He was sure if Sebek was here, he would scold her and defend his master. But Malleus knew Yuu meant to harm.

"Perhaps you're right, Yuu. Even a mighty creature like me can easily he affected the smallest of things" he said as they arrived inside the room to the mirrors that would direct them to their dorms.  "Well, here we are. Well, I'll let you be Malleus. I have to go meet up with my friends at Heartslabyul" she said to him. "Thank you for protecting me from the rain and catching a cold, Yuu" he thanked her as she smiled at him, proceeding to another direction until a thought occurred to her.

"Oh, hey Malleus. Do you have your own umbrella?" She asked him curiously. "No. Why?" He answered, wondering what she was up to. Without saying anything, she pressed the umbrella to his hands. "Here. Don't worry about me. I'm sure Sam's got something in his shop. See ya around" she told him cheerfully before entering the mirror to the other dorm.

Malleus had a look of surprise on him as his green eyes went to the umbrella in his hand, raindrops falling down on it. She had given him her one protection from the rain just for him without hesitation. Other than his own dorm, and Lilia, he couldn't recall anyone else walking and tlaiing with him and offering him an umbrella in the rain. "Hmm. You continue to intrigue me, child of man" he told himself, smiling before he entered the dorm where he found Lilia waiting for him. The short black and pink hair boy flashed a smile at him.

"Ah, there you are Malleus. I was worried the weather delayed you" he said and then his eyes were on the umbrella, curiosity peaking inside him. "What do you have there?" He asked him, eager to know as Malleus smiled at him, feeling this was a story Lilia would like.
