Stitch's house, nightfall...

"Ace! When this over and we're home, I will behead you!"

Riddle shouted, running out of the house, soaked, and drenched. He took his hat off, dumping out the remaining smoothie that Stitch had snuck in earlier. His face reddened when he heard that familair laughter from Stitch and Ace.

"Aw, come on, Riddle! It was just some smoothie!" He growled at Ace, taking his shirt off and squeezing out the juice. The freshmen and Stitch had shot smoothie from Stitch's blaster by surprise. And if that didn't make it worse, he got a hat full of smoothie on his head.

"When I get my clothes dry, I am going to.... huh?"

His eyes glanced up briefly, spotting someone sitting at the shore. He glanced back inside, peeking his head at the corner of the door to see who was missing among them. Inside the house, Floyd was shooting an extra smoothie blaster at Ace with Stitch helping him, laughing manically as the blue creature threw fruits at him relentlessly. Ace was shouting at how Stitch could betray him to the wild Leech brother while an amused Lilia and alarmed Azul took cover behind the fridge door.  The prefect, Yuu, and Grim were upstairs, watching the chaos unfold. However, his grey eyes widened realizing one girl was missing and his head turned back to the beach.

"Cosette?"

Meanwhile at the shore, Cosette was sitting on the sand with her knees pulled against her chest. Her soft pink eyes stared up at the white moon that illuminated the dark blue of the night sky with the silver stars to match with it. She sighed longingly at it, smiling as if the moon was her friend. Her chin rested on her knees, not taking her eyes away from it.

"Cosette? What are you doing out here at night?"

Her eyebrows rose up, recognizing that voice. She turned her face away to look at the red head. However, her eyes grew huge and her face reddened. Her housewarden looked at her, surprised but confused by that reaction. "What?" She turned away, smiling shyly at him as her eyes took quick glances before looking away.

He glanced down and once realization hit him, his face reddened embarrassed. He was shirtless, having left his shirt to dry back at the house. Not that he had anything physique to him or muscular build, but it did make him feel flustered that the one girl he cared about saw him like this. "Ah. I um...apologize for this...indecent act. My um shirt got wet, and I left it to dry." He explained, feeling his mouth go dry.

"Ah. That would explain it. I honestly thought you were here for a midnight swim." she remarked, giggling at him. It was so rare for the freshmen to see the calm and strict housewarden get so flustered. She found it cute personally to see him like this. A little vulnerable yet truthful side of him that she enjoyed seeing.

Riddle chuckled lightly, finding that little thought enough to ease the awkward moment between them. "Anyway, what are you doing out here? You'll catch a cold. Not to mention Gantu might show up at any moment." he inquired, taking a quick glance to see if the giant alien might return to fulfill his mission. "Are you worried Riddle?" she asked him curiously, her eyes softening at him as she patted the sand next to her, inviting him to sit down.

Riddle's grey eyes brightened at her, gladly accepting her invitation. She noticed how his eyes shimmered like the stars above her, and she felt a slight red blush. His silver eyes were one of her favorite features of his, keeping her eyes on him as he sat down. He glanced up at her and she quickly glanced away, running her fingers through her wavy grayish purple hair. Riddle recognized it as it was a habit of hers for when she got nervous, or shy. He wasn't sure what he did to make her act like this, but he didn't like it either.

His eyes glanced up at the moon, taking in its white glow. "The moon looks lovely tonight, doesn't it?" he brought up to her, paying attention to her reactions. She glanced back up at the moon and let the hair between her fingers slip out of her reach, once again lost in its beauty. For Cosette, it felt that whenever she stared at it, the moon put her in a trance, keeping her mesmerized. "Yes. It certainly is." her eyes glanced at him briefly, pondering if she should say it to him. If she didn't, it would bother her. If she did, there be no way to know for sure his reaction nor would she be able to take it back. While the thought of how he would react made her a little nervous and sweat a little even, she had to at least take the chance rather than spend the night bothered by a tiny regret.

"Riddle." She said his name quietly, but it was loud enough for him to hear. He turned his head to look at her, meeting her soft pink eyes. She took a deep breath to calm herself and to keep her confidence up. "Your eyes. They're shimmer like the stars above. And...." she started, pushing one of her hair strands back but it slid back on her shoulder. She looked at his eyes, realizing the moon's light made them luminous like the actual stars.

However, Riddle felt the same with her as she was bathed in the moonlight. Her purple hair had a glow to it, almost blending in with the blue night behind her. Her eyes, the same soft pink as a rose petal, had the moon's glow to them. He felt his own face warm up, not from embarrassment nor anger. Just from admiration of those small yet beautiful features of the girl before him. "...I um think they look very pretty right now." She mustered the courage to finish her sentence.

The red hair housewarden smiled at her fondly, slowly bringing his hand to her face. "May I?" he asked, pointing to her hair that rested on her shoulder. He would prefer to have her permission before performing such a bold move. Cosette blushed in surprise, blinking. But she nodded to him, appreciating how considerate he was of how she felt. He gently brushed her hair back and behind her ear. The slight touch from his fingers across her exposed shoulder made her shiver a little. Riddle noticed that but mistook that as being from the cold of the night.

"Are you cold?" he questioned, a little worried. She shook her head at him, smiling at him to assure she was ok.  He leaned away from her to give her space, bringing his knees up to his chest. "If you want, you could lean against my shoulder. I hear that close physical contact helps with warmth. Um but that is if you wish for that. I'm not forcing you." he offered her, the last part nervously as it felt a little bold.

She blinked at his offer, surprised. But she knew Riddle as a gentleman who had good intentions and never sought to harm her. He always treated her respectfully and kindly. Though she really wasn't cold, she did like the idea of being closer to him. And the fact he tried to explain why he offered it made it slightly amusing yet sweet at the same time.

As Riddle sat quietly, his eyebrows up to feel a slight weight on his shoulder. Looking to his right, his eyes widened to find Cosette leaning against him. "This is nice." she whispered quietly, glancing up at him. While initially startled by her accepting his proposal to stay warm so quickly, he relaxed and smiled at her fondly. "I couldn't agree more." he whispered back, glancing at the sky with her, letting themselves get lost in the silver stars and the bright moon dancing in the night.
