My first vigenette for my oc.

"Malleus is going on the trip?"

Mara's ears rose up in surprise. She was with Silver, talking about the trip to the Solace Bell College, and the cheetah learned just now that the prince of Briar Valley was going.

"But he didn't win the lottery. Unless this is the headmage'a doing." The cheetah concluded, looking at her friend as he nodded to confirm. "It was surprising, but Crowely came and said that the person in charge of the trip extended an invite personally to Lord Malleus." He further added. Then, his phone sent a beep, alerting him of a notification.

As he took his phone out to see what it was, the vice housewarden of Savannaclaw started thinking about this new information she gathered. 'Malleus getting inviting a trip that he didn't win but the headmage intervene. There's no doubt that Crowely made a deal with Solace Bell College to let Malleus in. Hmmm. Come to think of it...' She let her thoughts run through her head as she realized only one person would be thrilled to hear this.

"Pardon me, Miss Haraka."

Her thoughts were interrupted when Silver spoke. "I must return to my dorm. Fa- I mean, Lilia is looking for me. Farewell." He told her politely as he nodded to him goodbye, watching him leave. "I, too, have to return to my dorm. Because I got some news to share." She said to herself, returning to her dorm to find her housewarden.

Meanwhile, in Savannaclaw...

"Oi. Have you two seen, Mara? I gotta tell her something."

Ruggie merely shrugged, unbothered as to where their vice housewarden went. "Not a clue. Haven't seen her." He simply replied, folding one of his clothes before putting it in the luggage. "I remember she said she was going to Sam's shop with Silver to go get some things." Jack informed him, recalling that from when he ran into her earlier.

"Hey guys!"

"Great Kings!"

Next thing Leona knew was seeing the second year jump to his feet like a startled cat, his fur bristling. "Mara! Don't that!" He demanded, holding his chest to calm his racing heart. Leona and Jack laughed in amusement, earning an annoyed glare from Ruggie.

"Ah. There's our vice housewarden. Perfect timing." Leona exclaimed, smiling at her a little. "Sorry, Ruggie." He apologized, trying to hold a giggle from the annoyed pout on his face.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." He dismissed it as the cheetah set her eyes on his luggage. One of her eyebrows rose in confusion at the amount of space his luggage offered. "Is that all you're taking? I think you can fit more stuff in there." She suggested, seeing only clothes, some snacks and other necessities.

"Nah. This will do. Besides, it's three days. They'll fly by quicker than you do." He waved it off with his hand. Jack and Leona's eyes widened. However, at that last sentence, looking at the cheetah.

"Grrr..."

Ruggie's face fell, realizing what he said and looked back to find a glaring Mara, baring her teeth and her eyes dilated with flattened ears. One thing Mara didn't like was her speed being underestimated.

"Heh heh. Did I say you? I meant quicker than aaaaaaa a yo-yo! Yeah, a yo-yo! You misheard that, Mara!" He insisted, holding his hands up in defense as the cheetah still growled.

"Mara."

Her eyes went to Leona, the prince calmly getting up from his seat. He maintained a more level-headed expression at her more agitated one. "You know Ruggie doesn't think much care on what he says. This one was a small mistake. Let this one slide, and if it happens again, then I'll let you deal with him." He suggested to her.

The cheetah thought on his words, and Ruggie breathed out in relief when her body relaxed, her pupils going back to normal. "You remember that, Bucchi." She warned him, getting a quick head nod from him.

She sighed in annoyance as she started glancing at each of her fellow Savannaclaw dorm mates. Jack was teasing Ruggie about being scared of Mara as the hyena argued back agitated. Leona was watching in amusement, lounging back in the chair.

The cheetah felt herself relax, and she smiled softly at the three. She was gonna miss Ruggie's antics for a while, though that meant some peace and less trouble in the dorm. Fortunately, she had Jack to keep an eye on if he got too excited and Leona if he started slacking in his studies. Despite the trouble the boys brought her, she wouldn't replace them. They were her brothers. Despite not being blood, she felt bonded to them deeply, and she wouldn't trade that. Her ears perked when Ruggie spoke, turning to look at her with a smug look.

"Oh yeah, Leona. Didn't you want to tell Mara something?
