This takes place in book 5 after the SDC event
After regaining his composure and controlling himself from the pent-up fustration after their defeat from Royal Sword Academy at the SDC concert, Vil was making his return to his dorm.
"Sigh. Next year, Vil. Next year." He vowed to himself, still feeling a bit displeased with the recent events. That and he was still feeling sore and exhausted from his overblot. As he inched closer to the door of his dorm, he felt a bit of relief and allowed a tired sigh to slip out of him as he pushed the doors open.
"SURPRISE!"
The lights flicked opened and the model jumped back startled when the lights hit him, and he heard a loud, excited shout. The whole entire dorm, along with Ace, Deuce, Grim, and Yuuma, cheered and applauded the confused housewarden.
His eyes scanned around and realized the dorm had been decorated with lights, balloons, and some floral decorations like it was a birthday party.
"Welcome, Vil!" Rook greeted him, walking over with Epel following suit. "What do you think of your little surprise?" He asked, throwing an arm around a confused Vil and guiding him.
"Rook. Epel. What is all of this?" The stunned housewarden questioned, narrowing his eyes in suspicion to his two friends.
"Well, you see Vil. We decided to throw a congratulations party for you." Epel explained to clear up the confusion. Vil looked at the freshmen, surprised to hear that he himself was the guest of honor.
"And what perfect time to throw one after that beautiful performance you put on? Don't you feel like you wsnt to leap for joy, my dear friend?" Rook asked, earning a flat look from the housewarden.
"Hardly. We didn't win this year." Vil reminded him dryly.
"And yet, you put on the most spectacular show this school has ever seen. Your hard work and thorough training were practically shining on stage. And that deserves a celebration as grand this!" Rook went on ecstatically. "Yeah, I agree with Rook. You've worked so hard, Vil! You deserve this!" Epel supported Rook's reasoning. Vil smiled, feeling grateful to have his friends and the dorm support him like this.
"Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's begin the party, shall we?" Vil announced, earning excited cheers of agreement, and the party commenced.
The Pomefiore dorm became bustling with music and exciting conversations. Everyone helped themselves to the delicious food that was prepared, half to suit Vil's tastes and the other half for the rest of the dorm. The students danced in the ballroom, and even Epel, to Vil's chagrin, did a unique dance that was from his hometown. While he would like to scold the freshmen for his poor dancing skills, Vil would let it slide just for tonight.
As he was resting on the couch, drinking some refreshing and ice cold lemonade, Rook came over to sit with him, surveying the party.
"So, Vil. Did you enjoy your party?" He asked, curious as Vil gave him an amused smile. "Do I have to appease you, Rook?" He joked playfully as the vice housewarden shrugged. "No need. Your eyes and that smile are shimmering brighter than diamonds. That is enough of an answer for me." He assured him fondly.
Vil offered a soft smile to his close friend before his eyes turned to his drink. He brought up to his lips to take a sip as he spoke. "Thank you, though, Rook for this grand surprise."
"Do not thank moi, Rois de Poison. Thank the trickster."
Vil froze. The drink was inches from his lips, but he had forgotten it in an instant. He slowly turned to look at Rook, blinking a couple of times.
"Pardon? The Trickster? As in....the prefect?"
Rook could see how the model eas caught off guard, and he smiled at him amusingly. He loved surprises, and he knew that the model never would have suspected the prefect to be the mastermind.
"Oui. She was the one who suggested it." He confirmed, turning his eyes to the ballroom. Vil's expression didn't shift, though, narrowing his eyes as he was still in thought.
Her. The prefect who was well known for getting into trouble and also helping their school several times. The one who saved him when he overblotted. He always her as a minor character in any show. Out of anyone, Vil never thought Yuuma could play her role in this so well hidden.
His eyes glanced up to the dance floor, and he spotted the prefect in view. Yuuma was dancing with Epel, who was teaching her his home's traditional dancing style. Ace and Deuce were cheering and complimenting, and Grim was trying to copy her moves. She was just laughing and enjoying herself with them.
"We planned it originally as a celebration for your anticipated victory in this year's concert." Rook spoke again, giving more information about the party. Though Vil listened, he didn't remove his eyes off the prefect.
"After seeing how distraught you were in our defeat, we had planned to cancel the party. But trickster insisted on going on with the show. She said it might help cheer you up." Rook finished as Vil glanced at him briefly only to glare at him when he saw the amused smile on his face.
Rook knew exactly what was going on in Vil's thought, and the model hated that his friend read him so well. Too well, in his opinion. Vil looked back to Yuuma, and right on time, their eyes met, and he froze, staring at her.
Yuuma smiled at him, out of breath from the dancing. She waved at him happily, glad to see his mood improved. Vil smiled at her, lifting his drink up to her as a little thank you before he returned back to take a sip.
"Indeed, it has cheered me up, Rook. Indeed, it has."
