"We need to talk," Jisoo said to the surprised girl and, without waiting for an answer, dragged her by the elbow to the exit from the classroom.

Haein was at basketball practice, and she couldn't take a minute longer. They spent all these few days together, barely parting, and pretended everything was in order. And Jaehyun's absence from school only worsened this cheap performance, in which Jisoo continued to answer Haein's kisses and put on a fake smile when he talked about how much he loves her.

"Do we have anything to talk about?" Hyeyoon asked with displeasure, reluctantly giving in to her ex-friend, and followed her.

It worried her a little that Jaehyun had been away from school for almost a week, but Hyeyoon had bigger things to worry about. For example, how to get Mingyu to start studying to prepare for the entrance exams because they planned to enter the same university together.

"Koo Kyohwan," Jisoo replied curtly as they stood at the window in the hallway, which was as far away from the gym as possible.

She didn't know what exactly she was trying to achieve now and what other evidence she wanted to get. But Jisoo had plans to talk about it with Mingyu and even Jisung. No matter how unpleasant Haein's company was now, her heart continued to justify him, playing in her head every fact confirming what he was doing. These thoughts tormented her insides, and made every cell of her body hurt, but did not stop scrolling in her head, as if they were trying to get used to it and stop reacting so negatively to the fact that Haein was selling drugs.

"How... how do you know him?" Hyeyoon whispered, stuttering slightly. "And Jaehyun told me not to tell anyone."

"How do you know him?" Jisoo asked angrily, realizing that Jaehyun also used Hyeyoon to get dirt on Haein. She could not be grateful to him for opening her eyes, because his methods disgusted her.

"Mingyu buys drugs from this Kyohwan. At least he has bought it before. Now I... I don't know who sells to him. Mingyu seemed to say that Kyohwan didn't want to deal with him," Hyeyoon muttered, not believing that Jisoo was now on her and Jaehyun's team to rescue Mingyu, and tried to guess why she was doing all this since she initially refused to help her.

"But I know," Jisoo thought to herself, hiding her eyes on the floor, and tried to take frequent breaths so as not to burst into tears at Hyeyoon. She wanted just to go to Haein and directly ask him about everything. But she knew she would hear. More excuses, beautiful lies, and promises to change.

"What... what do you want to know?" Hyeyoon murmured cautiously. They hadn't stood like this in a long time and didn't communicate without hatred in their looks or screams. "Is this related to...your mother?"

"Stop talking nonsense," Jisoo said coldly, looking up angrily at her. "My mother has nothing to do with it," she said, but she doubted her own words very much.

Jaehyun saw the connection. He said they have a whole system there. Maybe Haein even knows who sold her mother a lethal dose of drugs. Too many thoughts and speculation that Jisoo was starting to get a headache. She is exhausted. She only wanted to do ballet and study. Why isn't her life in the right order?

"Jisoo," Hyeyoon addressed her softly after a few minutes of silence, during which she carefully watched her former friend nervously bite her fingers, arms crossed over her chest, and stare thoughtfully out the window.

She knew Jisoo. No matter how complicated their relationships were right now, once they were sincerely friends. She was definitely very worried about this topic, and of course, it was not about Mingyu. Jisoo had her own reasons for doing so. And if it was not her mother, then there was only one person close to her, because of whom she could now stand in an empty corridor and torment herself with thoughts.
