A sudden realization hit Jaehyun in the middle of class. After Hyeyoon's words, he kept replaying the name of this Koo Kyohwan in his head for several hours. For some reason, he was sure that he had heard him somewhere. Jaehyun had many acquaintances and different connections. Both in the ballet sphere and in the political sphere, thanks to his father, who often took his family to all sorts of receptions in the USA and Korea. There were too many names of different nationalities in his knowledge base, difficult to pronounce and difficult to remember. Therefore, he had no doubt – he had definitely heard this not very common name somewhere.
"Call Koo Kyohwan," at one point popped up in his head by the voice of Jung Haein during a physics lesson. Jaehyun heard those words a few days ago when they were standing in the backyard of the school and a middle schooler approached them.
Unable to control his emotions and ignoring the fact that teacher Kang had been strict in his classes in recent days, Jaehyun turned his side to the back of the desk and gave his classmate a hateful look. Jisoo, who was sitting next to him, was the first to notice this, as her attention was on the blackboard when the guy himself was distracted with texting on an old Nokia.
There was no suspicion that Haein was involved in everything. All threads led to him. Mingyu, his dealer Kyohwan, a dumb phone that would be used by someone who doesn't want to be easily traced over the net.
"How did I not guess before," escaped from his lips.
"What do you want?" Jisoo asked rudely, raising her eyebrows in bewilderment, and attracted the attention of Haein, who first looked at the girl with interest. Seeing that she was looking ahead, he turned his head to Jaehyun.
"Can I help you?" he added ironically, putting the phone in his pocket, and a classmate continued to incinerate him with an evil look, breathing fast and widening his nostrils from the desire to stand up now and hand him over to the police. "The board is in that direction, you moron," Haein muttered in annoyance, gesturing at the teacher standing with his back to them.
Jaehyun couldn't pass him now. He knew that someone powerful was behind Haein since the police did not investigate Ms. Kim's death. Looking at Jisoo, his face softened a little, and he felt a lot of guilt for being responsible in some way for her falling into the clutches of this monster. His Jisoo didn't even know what it was, otherwise, she wouldn't let Haein wrap his arms around her shoulders right now.
But he would be able to find a way to destroy Haein, and he was already thinking through the options in his head for this. He will definitely save his ex-lover and even then she will not be able to doubt that all the decisions of Jaehyun are taken only for her good. The thought that Haein's imminent end was about to come, and most importantly, that it would come from his hands, made Jaehyun now slowly curl his lips into a haughty smile.
"Turn your head, or I'll do it for you. And believe me, I will turn it 360 degrees," Haein ordered him displeased, angry at how a classmate plays silent, changing one emotion on his face to another.
Jaehyun didn't need a repeat of the threat, and savoring the upcoming events in his head, he obeyed.
"I think we can be congratulated," Jisoo summed up, staring thoughtfully at the guy's back. "We finally drove him crazy," she laughed softly, and Haein caught her laugh, grinning wickedly so that Teacher Kang wouldn't notice how much fun they were having. "By the way, I noticed that Hyeyoon made up with Mingyu," she remarked, remembering that before the lesson she saw how they were holding hands, discussing something in the corridor.
Jisoo suddenly felt pleased that they were together again, as she unconsciously sympathized with her former friend. Although Mingyu continued to show that he had withdrawal symptoms with all his painful appearance, and Hyeyoon, not far away from her boyfriend, looked just as anxious and abandoned.
