For the next few days, Jisoo refused to attend classes. She had an agreement with the director that she would at least go to some specialized lessons, after all, she is the best student of the school. But the girl was categorical in her decision. She did not care, even if her mother had to once again ask the director "in an adult way" to resolve this issue. Jisoo was sick of just the thought of meeting Haein in class. Therefore, she tried in every possible way to force herself not to think about him with the help of the most effective way for her - ballet.
The second round of casting is tomorrow. She and Jaehyun completely prepared the number, that even the guy himself admired the abilities of his partner, which he had rarely done before. Jisoo did not believe in his sincerity, so she continued to repeat the same movements over and over again, not noticing how it was getting dark outside the window, and how her body was weakening from malnutrition and lack of sleep.
She no longer knew what and to whom she was trying to prove. Initially, she wanted not to screw up and at the casting to show the jury members that Romeo dancing next to her was only a minor supporting character in her number. She couldn't let him outdo her in front of the choreographers.
Jisoo knew that she had worked hard enough for this, but she couldn't stop, because every time she closed her eyes, Haein's face, his cat smile and eyes, popped up under the closed eyelids. When she stopped, she felt his touches, hugs and that first kiss of theirs, remembering which the girl always got goosebumps. And when she turned off the music in her headphones, instead of his encouraging words about how he believes that she would rub everyone's nose as usual, she heard him accuse her of being back in bed with Jaehyun.
Therefore, she had to start in a new way and quickly return to rehearsals, until the tears of resentment didn't take over her again. Jisoo still could not believe that these words were said by Jung Haein, who did not even try to apologize after what was said or somehow justify his behavior. As it turned out, bitter experience did not teach Jisoo to understand people.
"I brought our suits for tomorrow."
Jaehyun hurried into the dance hall with large bags in his hands and was not at all surprised that Jisoo did not even stop her movements when she saw him in the reflection of the mirror. Putting the packages on the floor, he approached her and stopped the girl in an arabesque position, wrapping his hand around her waist.
"Don't ignore me, you know how much I don't like it," he whispered in her ear, brazenly removing one of the headphones, and smirked contentedly at her displeased grin.
"Jaehyun, I told you," she replied, standing up straight on both feet and trying to push off roughly.
But it was already nine in the evening, and Jisoo had been rehearsing all day. She didn't even have the strength to stand still. And Jaehyun knew this very well, so he only grinned at the girl's attempts, pressing her closer to his body.
"I thought you were done with that bully, and stopped sulking at me."
"What about... him." Jisoo immediately understood who he meant, and didn't want to remember Haein now, much less discuss him with Jaehyun.
She did not speak to him at all on personal topics during their rehearsals. But he often told her about his studies in St. Petersburg, about the city itself, about Russians and their strange habits. As if preparing her for the move.
And Jisoo was interested. Sometimes she caught herself listening carefully to his stories and even asking leading questions, which supported their communication. It was as if they were reacquainting themselves with each other again and a close relationship was born between them.
"Just saw him on the way here at the school gate. He and Mingyu surrounded some middle school student and seemed to be trying to squeeze money out of him."
