I'VE ALWAYS BEEN a social person. From as long as I could remember, I've always had friends and I've always gone to parties. I've always been well known since elementary school to college. If there was one thing stopping me from becoming the most "popular" girl that everyone's tried to make me be, it'd probably be the fact that I turn down every guy who's ever tried to even near me.
It's not like I don't want to have a boyfriend in my life. Even though I'm a party animal, I do have standards, and I don't want to even dance or kiss a guy who isn't someone I really like.
As I make my way into the nightclub, surrounded by all my friends, we walk in once one of my friends gives us the cue.
As everyone begins to split and become familiar with people in, my friends drag me into the middle of the dance floor. I greet a few people before my friends and I start dancing.
It was fun, the loud music combining with the occasional alcohol I would drink made the night whole.
"Hey, pretty girl," a voice sounded, his hands coming around my waist.
I chuckled nervously as I took his hands off of me. "Sorry, not interested!" I shouted over the music, beginning to distance myself towards my friends who had moved a bit farther.
"Come on..." he said as he grabbed my wrist, tightening his grip, "Let loose!"
My teeth gritted as I tried to pull away. As he continued to hold me tight, he tried to pull me tighter. His other hand went to my ass which is when I slapped him with all that I could.
I saw a few people stare at us as they watched the scene happen.
"Ugh, you fucking bitch!" As he raised his hand to hit me back, I closed my eyes as I awaited for it.
It never came.
I opened my eyes, seeing a tall, extreme handsome, muscular man holding the man's wrist and twisting it. The tall man said something I couldn't make out before the creepy one ran away, practically pissing his pants.
"Are you okay?" The man asked me, shouting over the music.
I nodded, looking up at him as my cheeks flustered. "Thank you."
"No problem, I'm Miguel O'Hara," he said as he stretched his hand forward for a handshake.
I shook his hand back, chuckling at his politeness.
"Y/N L/N," I answered, "I owe you. Thanks again."
"It's nothing," he shook his head, "Have a nice night."
We waved to each other goodbye before he walked away and I walked back to my friends. They looked to me, their mouths agape.
"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows, looking at them, "What's wrong?"
"Do you know who you were just talking to?!" My best friend, Lynn, asked me, jumping up excitedly.
"No?" I shook my head.
"That's the most notorious mafia leader. He owns the nightclub and like all major companies!" She told me, yelling over the music, "He never interacts with the people here, but for some reason he did you!"
"I think he likes you," My other friend, James, said, his mouth wide as he laughed.
"What are you talking about, 'he likes me'? He was just helping me!"
He pointed behind me.
I turned back, seeing Miguel sit with men all around him, staring at me and only me. My cheeks got flustered once again as I looked back at him.
I turned back to my friends. "What do I do?"
"What do you do?" Lynn scoffed, "You go along with it!"
"I'm scared!" I said, looking between them both, "If he's that big of person, isn't he dangerous?!"
I turned back around, seeing Miguel tilt his head, calling me over with a small smirk on his face.
My heart fluttered.
Oh crap.
