At the end of his day, Shen Wei headed for home, feeling slightly stiff on his left side where the stitches were, glad that his work was over and he could rest after Gelan treated the wound. He knew that she didn't inform him of Yunlan's presence in the university grounds but he wasn't going to reprimand her or check her programming, he was going to meet him eventually, it just happened a little sooner than expected. Wei was driving and feeling worse by the minute, and after he arrived home, Gelan checked his stitches only to find out that his wound was infected, and she urged him to seek medical help immediately, but he was in no condition to leave his room, so she made a logical decision. Medical help had to come to him and the only personal nurse that she could think of was Yunlan's, so she called him.
Zhao Yunlan was finishing his work for the day, when he received a call from an unknown number.
"My name is Gelan and I am Shen Wei's personal assistant, could you do him a favour and bring your nurse over to examine his wound, I think it's infected and he's not able to move at the moment. He doesn't like hospitals and won't go."
Yunlan couldn't believe his luck, being called to visit Wei's house so soon, not realising how ill he was, but after a few calls to collect his nurse plus her medical supplies, he was on his way. Gelan was waiting at the front door for them and took Yunlan nearer to her to use as a guide, and noticing how different she felt, he realised that possibly she was a mobile AI. She carefully took them through the house to Wei's bedroom where the nurse immediately ran forward, making Yunlan concerned about his condition.
"What's wrong , tell me." he said.
"It looks as if his stitch line is indeed infected, he should have stayed at home today, it was too fresh for him to be at work, he has a fever and needs rest for a few days. I can treat the wound and leave antibiotics for him but no work for the rest of the week."
The nurse began to clean his wound and apply a clean dressing while Yunlan stood beside Gelan listening to the movements, and thanked the nurse when she was finished. He suggested that she return home and he would stay with Shen Wei, knowing that Gelan would be able to help him move around the house. After the nurse left, Gelan moved a chair over beside the bed for Yunlan to sit closer to Wei and guided him nearer, leaving to give them both some privacy.
Yunlan listened to Shen Wei's breathing as he slept, and touched the covers feeling his way along to to find Wei's hand which was resting at his side. While holding it, he became aware of how warm he was, and followed his shape lightly with his other hand reaching for his brow which was damp with perspiration. He called on Gelan and explained, and asked for some cloths and some water which she carried in and put within reach of Yunlan on the nearside table before she left the room. Yunlan started to gently wash Wei's face and hands while he was talking to him.
"What are you doing to yourself, going to university in this condition, taking time off wouldn't kill you, you need time to rest and heal."
Then he set the alarm on his watch to wake every hour to wash and cool Wei's temperature down, while Gelan regularly changed the water and the cloths.
