Shen Wei didn't know what to wear tonight, he'd never ever been confused about his attire but now he was, and he opened the wardrobes to search for a good suit. They were all good suits, maybe if he chose a shirt first, then he could find a suit to match in with the colour. This isridiculous, he thought and sat on the edge of the bed, realising that it was because Yunlan had never actually seen him in a suit before but now it was only black and white that he could see, so that helped and he picked out a modern high collared black jacket with a plain white dress shirt.
He hung them up on the outside of the wardrobe and went towards the bathroom for a shower but seeing the small golden orb lying on the bedside table, made him pause. He had been wearing it regularly but had forgotten this morning and he lifted it seeing it sparkle catching the sunlight, and there he was again, Yunlan's face smiling from the inside looking out at him. Even when he turned it, Yunlan turned back towards him, amazing, and he put it down and went for his shower.
Chu and Da Qing were beginning to feel tired but determined to stay awake with Yunlan while he slept, so Da Qing rose and made some strong coffee for them and brought it back, handing a cup to Chu who thanked him. The office had been extremely quiet, only the outside noise of traffic entered occasionally breaking the silence until Yunlan moaned slightly, drawing both of their attention to him and managing to do what the coffee couldn't, they were now wide awake.
The watch face had turned red and Shen Wei's face was even visible to both of them, they now realised that whatever was going to happen, had started.
Shen Wei was fully dressed and reached for the pendant, slipping it on under his shirt, he glanced for a last look in the mirror before coming down to dinner but he never left the bedroom, he dropped, landing on the carpet at the side of the bed, unconscious. Gelan had been waiting and watching. She entered and effortlessly lifted him, placing him on the bed while adjusting his attire correctly and sat beside him while texting Da Qing with just two words,... "It'sstarted."
Da Qing didn't need to read the message to know because he was sitting with Chu beside Yunlan watching with concern in their faces.
Shen Wei was lecturing his last class of the day, he was tired and wanted to go home when he felt the bullets hit him hard and collapsed from the pain and shock. The pupils gathered around him and the medical students came forward to see if they could help while someone fetched the nurse and informed the dean. They gently turned him on his side and checked his breathing and pulse while slipping his glasses inside one of his pockets and someone else folded a jacket to use as a pillow.
When the nurse arrived, the medical students reported to her and she couldn't fault their actions, its what she would have done in their place just as Wei began to come around. The students all stepped back to give him space to try and get up from the floor but he needed some help, refusing point blank to go to the hospital but asked to be taken to his office for some tea.
