The professor had missed his classes all week and he was concerned about his student's education being slightly disrupted, although he was sure that the replacement tutor would be able to keep them on track until he could return. Being at home for so long without anything to do was causing Shen Wei to be bored and looking for new ideas to fill his days while he recuperated from his injury. One of Yunlan's attackers had a knife in his hand that he hadn't seen until it was too late to avoid it and he had been slashed as the man swirled on falling, before hitting the ground with his companion. It was only Wei's intention to protect Yunlan not to get injured himself, and was too embarrassed to tell him anything about the injury, but he was able to hide it. He expected Yunlan to ask how he was injured, especially when he spent a couple of nights looking after him, but he never did, maybe because he didn't want to pry into his life too much by asking the cause of the injury, especially with him being a naturally inquisitive person.
Shen Wei roamed around his house checking the hidden cameras, making sure that they were all in good condition and headed towards Gelan's room with the security monitors. She was in standby mode, resting. There was no need for her to be active all day because the house was safe from intruders and the only active human wandering around would be Shen Wei who built this fortress years ago. It was an old abandoned building and had been empty for a very long time because of a clause the last owner had left in the conditions of sale giving the estate agents a considerable amount of money if they adhered to the terms.
After he had graduated from university and was working on Gelan's brain, he had spotted this house and asked about the current price on the market, also learning that there were conditions attached to the sale, which didn't put him off from buying. The estate agents made sure of the buyer's financial position and were satisfied that he met the criteria in the previous owners included clause, which they were not allowed to elaborate on, for fear of losing their tidy bonus. Shen Wei became the new owner and began his renovation plans for the secure home it is today, though there was one area at the back of the house where he couldn't get access but wasn't overly concerned because it would probably be just the same as the rest of the building.
Yunlan phoned and asked about bringing Chu for a visit to explain in detail what he had found out in the archives. Shen Wei hesitated slightly at first and then agreed, knowing that it was important for him to find out about his past life and then he would be able to put it to bed and stop the nightmares. Gelan watched him from her charging place which was a single bed with adapted power points connecting to her frame, making it seem as if she was just lying down in a normal bed. She knew that Wei would be granted access to the rear room soon and her part would be over. She would still be able to watch them all but not interact in their lives. Shen Wei approached her and spoke.
"Yunlan and a guest are on their way over as I'm sure you've heard, would a light meal or tea be suitable?"
Gelan arose fully charged and awake while stretching similar to human behaviour and suggested.
