The Enigma Room was still in white and Kunlun wasn't in a hurry to change the colour even although he could if he had wanted, but he had grown used to the ambiance of this shade, when dealing with problems. She Wei awoke being aware of lying on a long soft sofa, not one he recognised but as soon as he opened his eyes to look around, he immediately knew where he was and sighed, speaking to the room.

"Am I dead?"

"Not exactly, but it was close, if Chu hadn't acted, you would have been and we wouldn't have been able to do anything about it.."

Wei watched as the person with the answers walked towards him out of a thin mist, and he sat up placing his feet on the non existent floor.

"Kunlun, I thought it was your voice, what happened to me?"

"You almost got out of making that decision, you were shot with a poison dart, another hitman to replace the caught one, we really need to stop this continual threat to your life, you were lucky this time."

"So what happens now?"

"That's the difficult part,.... You're not dead,... but you're not alive either. And before you say anything,... I'll explain."

Kunlun proceeded to explain the agreement made between the volunteer host for Black Robe's Entity and one of Shen Wei's previous lives when he tried to commit suicide, Kunlun saved him in exchange for the volunteer agreeing as host for an unlimited amount of time. If Kunlun saves Shen Wei now, he will be breaking the agreement because the terms stated at that time, allowed him to be saved once only.

"So you will not save me this time, why explain it, why not just let me sleep and know nothing, rather than bring me here to explain the impossible."

"You're too important, we can't let you go without knowing your answer to the decision you have to make."

Shen Wei was beyond furious, and felt as he had been backed into a corner with only one way to go, even if he was against it. Of course he wanted to live, be with Yunlan for the rest of his life, but to be able to do this he had to say yes to the Entity sharing his body and life, he felt as if he was being coerced into the decision, the only way he would agree was if they could give him a good enough reason for him to say yes, willingly.

"I might be able to do that, but this is your decision, the host has been waiting for a very long time to rest, but if he has to wait a while longer, he will, gladly. Follow me and I'll take you to him."

She Wei rose from the comfort of the long sofa and walked casually following Kunlun's path to greet the dark presence in the mist. He could make out the shape of a person in the unmistakable long flowing cloak which turned darker and darker the nearer he approached, until he stood behind him at arms length and the deep voice thanked Kunlun asking him to leave.

Wei stood patiently waiting to hear some explanation or excellent reason as to why he should take up this role and bear this for the rest of his life but the Black Robe Entity never spoke, he only turned slowly as if it was painful with age to turn this old host's body and stared, looking into Wei's eyes.

The atmosphere felt strange to Shen Wei, he had no fear of this man, and he saw the pain in his movements realising that time was catching up with him. He knew that he was very powerful and could destroy a world if the reason arose but just now he sensed tenderness more than aggression. There was also a deep sadness resonating from his stance that couldn't be hidden and it touched Shen Wei's heart even although he had yet to lower his hood which hid his face completely. His hands were partially covered with his deep long sleeves but they looked like the hands of a youthful person, and eventually he spoke to Shen Wei.

"In agreement to hosting this beautiful spirit, I have kept my heart linked to my only love in the world who was lost to me. I am the same age as I was at my death and have seen many lifetimes pass, waiting for the right one to claim part of his own life back because I was never Black Robe. He was a kind, honourable, just, and loving person who lived on the surface of two worlds and fought for peace. I will gladly hold his spirit until he chooses to leave me. Even if you say yes to us, he can say no to you, and wait for the right one to come.

Shen Wei was slightly taken aback, no one had mentioned the fact that even the Entity could decide not to blend with him if he wasn't right, maybe Kunlun wasn't told that fact.

"How will you know?" Wei asked, feeling that his death was immanent.

"We've known already, for a long time." and he started to lower his hood.

Shen Wei Watched as the hands gently gripped the edge of the material and slowly pulled it back across the crown of his head as he faced downwards, pushing it towards the back of his neck and he dropped his hands to his sides. Slowly raising his face upwards to stare into Shen Wei's eyes, he waited and watched as those same eyes filled with tears, unable to speak, unable to move, unable to think, just stare and breathe.

Down below in the hospital, the doctor had come out to speak to the relatives of Shen Wei which of course was Yunlan, Chu and Da Qing, mainly to tell them that he was in a deep sleep and couldn't be awoken, similar to a coma but didn't seem to be in any danger. They had taken a tissue sample from his neck to find out what kind of dart it was because they thought it was partly inducing his state, and if they could find an antidote, he might regain consciousness, and then they were allowed entry.

He looked peaceful just asleep, no pain showing in his face, no worry in his brows but his colour was fading, so Chu led Yunlan over to sit beside him and finding his hand, he held on to it firmly and never let go. Da Qing and Chu stayed for a while but decided to leave and start searching the files again, looking for the person behind the attacks.

Yunlan held his hand up to his mouth and kissed Wei's fingers, keeping a grip of his hand, he spoke to him, telling him all the things that he couldn't say to him directly if he was awake.

"I have loved you since the day I found out your name, I love your voice and the way you speak, I'm glad I'm blind and not deaf because I would miss the richness in the tone, I love the feel of your face, your smile and your kiss, I have never kissed anyone else in my life, only you, so please come back to me, I can't live without you. You are part of me now, the better part,....."

Yunlan was tired, his world had been turned upside down by this man lying in the bed beside him and he wanted some peace, to be able to live together without disruption. He yawned and lay his head down next to Wei's hand still in a grip and closed his eyes to sleep.

Gelan was watching through the hospital security system and no one was going to disturb these two souls, she would see to that. She knew the rules of non interference in Shen Wei's life but helping Da Qing and Chu search for the source behind the contract could be justified as part of her protection protocol. She felt that the answer could be in the books in the hidden library, so she started from the very first one and absorbed book by book into her memory, recognising some of the events through Shen Wei's dreams, helping her to understand why some were good and others horrible. This was going to take some time sha thought, as she looked around the room at the amount of journals filling the bookcases.

Da Qing and Chu were in the same boat as Gelan, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack but the answer was in the past, in these files and they continued to search for another couple of hours before going home.
