Yunlan felt the coldness creeping through his body, slowly bringing him back to awareness from his sleep, not knowing where he was. The tiles on the floor drained the heat from his body, while the cracks turned red with his lost blood. He opened his eyes to darkness trying to work out how long he had been lying here, it couldn't possibly be night already, he looked at his watch and saw a familiar red glow on the dial and nothing else, realising that his sight was gone.
He tried to call out telepathically, nothing, it was also gone. He searched his brain for the feel of the host, he was gone. He listened for any movement in the room and could hear a small meow from the corner and he smiled. The cat came over to him and rubbed his head against Yunlan's face.
"I'm alright Da Qing, just can't see at the moment, is there surveillance in this room and that's why you're not talking?" and the cat meowed.
He tried to move his legs and was met with a sharp warning pain near his ankle which had been broken while he was unconscious but the cat had seen it.
His phone had been removed for the boss to call Shen Wei when he was ready but not just yet, he wanted his victim to look worse first, so he had added some scars to his face which bled out causing the pattern on the floor where he lay, and the cat had seen it.
They had broken his fingers as he slept, so he never felt it until he tried to move them, and the cat had seen it.
They had tried to catch Da Qing but no way on this earth were they going to. He had moved like lightning and stayed on top of the highest shelf that he could find and they didn't think that he was worth the work involved to get him down, so they had left him with Yunlan.
The office was busy as usual, Chu for once was writing at his own desk and not buried in the archive, there was less need to be there after the major events a few days ago, also he felt more content being with the rest of the staff since then. He looked around for Da Qing but couldn't see him anywhere and he asked where Yunlan was,
"He took the cat out with him to visit the university, about two hours ago."
Lin Jing saw them leave and noted it down to tease the cat later on. Chu wasn't concerned, the professor must have sent for him officially otherwise he would not have taken Da Qing and he went for a coffee before getting back to his report.
Shen Wei had finished classes for today and was relaxing in his study with his favourite tea, when the air around him changed and his defences immediately rose, as he locked the office door from where he was sitting across the room. He sat patiently waiting to see what had triggered his shield, when the old host appeared in front of him, tired with very little energy left, fading in and out, trying hard to tell him about Yunlan but he was struggling to speak.
