The four of them rapidly materialised in the minister's garden out of sight from the intruders, but a little too quick for Da Qing who ran into the bushes to be sick, while Yunlan explained the plan to Chu and Black Robe who couldn't enter unless the minister was asleep.
Yunlan, Chu and the cat crept in through the unlocked back door to the kitchen, listening for the voices of the two men in the sitting room. They were repeating wild accusations that were given as an excuse why their target had to die and the drug assured the distributer that the target would definitely be dead before the assassins. Shen Wei listened in, it was all too familiar to an event in his past nightmares and he knew that the chemical was driving them to follow their orders. Yunlan circled around to the left of the room keeping hidden below furniture height while Chu went right, and the cat of course just walked straight in and up to the shocked minister to sit on his knee, climbing towards his ear and he spoke quietly to him.
"Try and stay calm minister, I'm Da Qing, Yunlan and Chu are also here, just do as they say."
"Didn't tell us he had a cat, do we kill it too, I don't want to, I love cats, could we keep it after he's dead?" Said Sang Zan staring at the cat.
"Why not, they only said him, take the cat out of the way." said Cong Bo. And Sang Zan reached to lift Da Qing away but the cat had other plans and sharp claws, which he used on him leaving deep painful rips on both hands, making it impossible for the intruder to use them. Sang Zan collapsed to the floor screaming and trying not to move a finger, crippled by the pain and loss of blood. His partner now tried to attack the cat but was stopped as Chu threw out his brilliant blue strings and securely tied his hands preventing him from attacking the minister or the cat. Chu also added some restraints to his ankles immobilising him completely.
Shen Wei watched from outside as Da Qing jumped down and the shocked minister was helped from the couch to stand, unable to speak coherently. Yunlan led him to the kitchen to make some tea and help him regain his composure as Chu and Da Qing called for transport to take the criminals away, and waited outside with Shen Wei who stayed in the shadows.
"What will happen to them, will they die from the drug?" The minister asked and Yunlan was glad to see that he had been reading the report he had left with him after the interview.
"Not if they can be fooled into thinking that they were successful, and then they will lose their memories. Recently we managed to find an antidote for the drug but supply is very limited, we have very little and no facilities to make more." Yunlan added.
The minister was completely shocked at the viciousness of the effects.
"If they believe that they have done their job, the drug wipes their minds and gives them amnesia. What if they don't finish their mission, the drug kills them?"
"Yes" Yunlan answered, "Painfully."
"Does it give them abilities the same as your people?" The minister asked.
