I don't know if I like this chapter or not, it's kind of another filler. Enjoy!

I woke up early in the morning to the sound of birds chirping and Sodas usual snoring. I looked around the room, the light of the morning illuminated the rough floor boards and I could see dust particles flying through the air. I quietly shuffled around on the blow up mattress before I got up slowly and tiredly. I walked across the room and to the door, slowly opening it as to not alarm anyone. I looked to Pony and Soda who were still cuddling in the bed, I smiled at the sight as I quietly shut the door behind me.

I looked around the house and saw Dallas sprawled out on the couch crazily. A blanket had been draped over top of him and his head was placed on a small, patterned pillow. His hair was messy and his snoring was loud. I held back my laughter as I looked at him. I walked over to the couch and crouched down by his side. I admired every detail of his face as I gently played with his tangly hair. I got lost in thought as I looked at his beautiful face. It felt as if it were only Dally and I in the quiet Curtis house.

I snapped out of my thoughts and shot up from the ground hurriedly as I heard a door close from behind me. I turned around to see Darry walking out of his room wearily. He didn't seem to notice me standing in the middle of the living room as he walked to the kitchen. I watched him walk right past me with a face of confusion. I crept to over the to the kitchen and peeped my head through the doorway as I curiously watched Darry begin to cook breakfast.

He rubbed his tired droopy eyes as he opened the fridge. I examined him as he walked around the small kitchen, grabbing ingredients for breakfast. His hair was messy and fluffy and his eye bags were dark. I grabbed the doorframe as I inched  further into the kitchen, watching his every move. He looked exhausted and unhappy, his movements had been slow and sluggish

It was about five in the morning that Sunday and he had already been up to make breakfast and then head off to work, again. I felt bad for him. The thought of the night before had come to mind as I watched him more intently. I felt bad for complaining to him, he was worried and I understood where he had been coming from in that moment. The fact that only made it worse is that he was like a father to me. A real father. I realized that although Darry had been a bit strict, he was much better than my own father, who was probably drunk in a ditch. I felt sad inside as I watched him tiredly make breakfast.

His unsteady hand reached for an egg on the side of the stove and he cracked it into a sizzling pan. He took deep breaths as he gained more consciousness and seemed to adjust to the light of day. He stood by the stove as he intently watched the egg cook. I took in a quiet breath as I inhaled the eggs scent. I inched my way more and more into the kitchen with every second. I took one last breath before speaking up.

"Good morning Darry." I greeted him as I walked into the middle of the kitchen. He took his attention away from the egg as he looked my way. "Morning." He responded politely. I smiled at him as he looked to me. I sighed as I walked to his side. "Sorry about last night." I apologized as I rubbed my neck. He shrugged. "It's alright. I just get a bit worried is all. Maybe a little too worried sometimes." He stated with laughter in his voice. A grin spread across my face at his words. "Still probably shouldn't have been out that late though..." I trailed off. He gave me a quick smile before he turned his attention back to the stove.

"Wanna help with breakfast?" He asked as he flipped the egg. "Sure." I replied with a smile. I pushed myself from off the counter as I began helping with breakfast. I talked with Darry and had a good time with him. I smiled the whole time we cooked and chatted. We ended up making fried eggs along with a mix of strawberries and blueberries. As we finished up, both Soda and Pony came out of their room sleepily. The both sat down at the dining table and we served them. The both slowly ate as they woke up more and more with every bite they took.

I put a plate together for myself and sat down at the small table. I ate quietly as I listened to the conversation between Soda, Pony, and Darry. After a little bit, Pony and Darry had finished their food and went in the kitchen to do dishes. Me and Soda ate quietly. I looked around the room with boredom as I chewed my food. My eyes came to living room. I looked to Dallas and smiled as I saw him still sprawled out on the couch.

"Whatcha smiling at Y/n?" Soda asked with his mouth full. I jerked my head over to look at him. "Nothing." I answered quickly and nervously. He cocked an eyebrow at my response. "What?" I asked with laughter in my voice. He chuckled. "You like him, huh?" He asked. I turned red at his statement.

"Who?" I asked, trying to sound clueless. I felt my body grow warmer with every passing second. He laughed at my response. He then gestured to Dallas with his fork in hand and his mouth full of food. I looked quickly to Dally and then back to Soda. "Why would you think that?" I asked. He grinned and nodded his head.

"I saw the way you were looking at him just a second ago." He replied as he swallowed the rest of his food. My cheeks grew hot. "If you wanted to keep your little crush a secret, then don't be so smiley around him." He continued as he stabbed his fork into a piece of egg. I playfully rolled my eyes at him before looking down at my food.
