Mei entirely powered off her phone, putting it into her dresser.

It was no longer necessary.

It was a bad idea to let herself get attached; she knew the day was coming.

She had to leave.

She was packed and ready, with the last months worth of assignments ready.

She'd be leaving tomorrow.

It grew closer to five; Mei had yet to leave her room.

"Mei! Go get the damn door!" Her mother yelled. Silently, Mei left her room.

"Hello?" Mei said, not knowing who was at the door - even though it should've been obvious.

"You're okay!" Jungwon cheered, seeing her.

"Yeah," Mei said softly, unsure what to do.

"I'm happy. Have you been eating? Drinking?" Jungwon asked.

"Yes, don't worry." With the simple movement, a part of her body language he picked up on, he knew she was lying.

"Why do you lie to me so much?" Jungwon asked.

"I don't want you to worry about me. I'm not someone to worry about." Mei refused to look up at him.

She knew what she'd find.

Sadness.

Worry.

Disappointment.

"Why?"

"What's taking you so long, Mei? Hurry up!" Her mother yelled, walking into view of the doorway.

"Oh, it's a boy? Let me guess, wanting to hoe around again before you leave?" Her mother snickered.

"No," Mei said softly.

"I recognize you. You're the boy from her class." Her mom pointed at him as if he was an object of humiliation.

"Yeah, I am. I'm here to see Mei."
