"Why won't you tell me what you meant?" Mei asked, watching the sky grow darker.

"Because I want to make sure you're not going to be overwhelmed. I don't want to be the reason you're overwhelmed," Jungwon said softly.

"I promise I won't run away. Don't leave me to think of my own reasons," Mei said, nearly a whine.

"I know, but it's still information you would probably wish you didn't hear," Jungwon mumbled.

"You seem like you want to tell me, though," Mei questioned, trying to get him to answer her begging question.

"I do, I do. But you're leaving. I can't stop you, and I don't want you to feel tied here," Jungwon said, referring to what she had said earlier.

"I don't want to go, but I can't stay here, not with her." Mei looked down at the grass, feeling his eyes on hers.

"Your mom?" He asked softly.

"Yeah. I can't do another day there," Mei said quietly.

"I'll miss you, but I understand." Jungwon hugged the girl, and it was returned seconds later.

Everything truly was happening too fast. They'd only been friends for over a month, but he impacted her life.

"Mei?"

"Yeah?"

"Run away with me."
