28: Settle In

You know I can't actually wear this ring all the time right?" Jake and I were on the way to meet my parents @ the Cullens' house.

"I thought of that but you still deserve to have a ring, and I want everyone to know you're taken." I laughed and he raised my hand to his lips and kissed my ring finger.

"Chief, if you smile any bigger your face might break." He tried to close his lips but they broke open again.

"I could say the same to you," he passed his thumb across my bottom lip still clutching my hand. "I can see your molars."

"Well I'm happy. Today is quickly becoming my number one."

"It's already the top of my list." He kissed my hand again as he pulled to a stop in the Cullens' driveway.

There was an old Ford Explorer in the driveway that I did not recognize.

"That's Sue's truck." Jake told me.

"Clearwater?"

He nodded, "She probably brought my dad over. I guess they came to celebrate." He quickly jumped out of the driver's seat and jogged around to open the door for me.

"Look who became a gentleman all of a sudden."

He gently pushed me against the closed door and kissed my neck, "I'm not being a gentleman. I just want you alone before we're surrounded by people."

'Good idea.' I thought as he kissed me slowly, pinning me to the car. I could feel the burn of his hand on the inch of skin between my sweater and jeans.

We got a whole five minutes before I heard a voice in my head.

'Just a warning,' I pushed Jacob away. It was too weird making out with him with my mother talking in my head.

"What?" he asked, breathing heavily.

"My mother," I rolled my eyes and pointed to my temple.

'We know you two are here and we can't stop Renesmee from going out there. Oh, there she goes. She's on her way now.'

The next second we saw Nessie come around the side of the house.

"What's taking so long? We've been waiting for you." She skidded to a halt right in front of us.

"Nothing Ness. We're coming." 'Thank your mom for the warning.' He told me silently as he grabbed my left hand and followed Ness to the backyard.

The gathering was separated into two main groups; the Cullens stayed near the house while Billy and sue were with Jacob's pack near the tree line.

My parents, Leah and Seth lingered between the two where there was a table of food. Esme and my mother had been busy.

Everyone started clapping when they saw us. I could feel heat rising in my cheeks but Jake waved and bowed.

Alice rushed over and hugged us both bouncing on her toes, "I'm so excited! I love planning weddings! Jasper and I have been thinking of getting married again just so I had something to do. This is even better."

Leah and Seth walked up behind her, "You want to give other people a chance to congratulate them?"

"Oh yes," Alice gave my hand one last squeeze. "We'll talk later." She winked and went to stand with my mother.

Seth and Leah gave me and Jake big hugs, "You've only known each other for six months but I can't say that anyone is surprised."

"There hasn't been a dull moment since you crashed your car. So when's the wedding?
