I felt Jacob arrive before I saw him, "How did you find me?" I asked before looking back. I stood up to watch him walk towards me, shirtless and beautiful.

'I could find you anywhere.' he kissed my forehead and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Are you ok? I know you had a bad dream last night."

"I have something to figure out. First, where did you go today?"

"I needed to see my dad and go into town. What do you need to figure out?"

He was hiding something from me but I knew if he was keeping a secret it had to be for a good reason. "My dream was really weird and I woke up with a cold pain in my chest." Jacob automatically looked worried but I kept going before he could interrupt.

"I asked N'Mai about it." He tried to interrupt but I wanted to get it all out. "She told me that not only can I turn into a panther but I will also be able to turn into a vampire." I took a deep breath and Jacob was silent. "That scared me at first but she says that I should always be in control no matter what form I take." Still nothing, "Jake you can say something now."

"I knew it." He looked over my head into the churning ocean. "She said you were three. When you I woke up and I saw how human you still were I knew there had to be more."

"I can try not to change but it might drive me crazy. I'll start seeing things."

"You said you were in pain."

"Yes, my heart feels cold. I can handle it now but it'll get a lot worse."

"Then you have to do it."

"Does this scare you? Do I scare you?"

He finally looked down and smiled at me with a hint of worry. "No, you don't scare me. I just don't want you to turn into a vampire and stop wanting me."

"Is that it?" I laughed. "I will always love you. Hating you for being a shifter would be like hating myself. We wouldn't be imprinted if there was any chance that any part of me wouldn't always want you." I concentrated on his chest drawing infinity signs into his skin. 'I've been telling myself that for the last twenty minutes convincing myself that you will still love me.'

He raised my head and ducked down so we were face to face, "We're both being stupid. This," he kissed me lightly and it tingled down top my toes, "is never going away, no matter what cool new things you can do." He kissed me again, slow and deep, standing up straight, easily lifting me half a foot off the ground.

He put me down entirely to quickly. "You make it so difficult to get any sleep at night." He pressed his forehead to mine.

"You're the one who always pulls away from me."

"This has to be done the right way." He said mostly to himself, looking back out over the ocean. "That doesn't matter right now." We sat as I tried to figure out

what he meant but he asked a question, "What else did N'Mai say?"

I showed him my dream and told him what N'Mai thought of my gifts. He didn't seem surprised.

"Jacob this is really cool. I'm not supposed to be able to do half these things in human form. Be excited with me." I tugged at his arm and he laughed.

"I've always known you were amazing. You're just adding to the list."

"Thanks I guess." I pouted. "But this is still really cool."

He laughed again and rumpled my hair. "So when are you making the first change? Sooner the better so the pain doesn't get worse."

"Tonight then. I'll ask the Cullens if they don't mind standing guard in case I go all crazy newborn." I flashed the image of me with red eyes.
