Love you for reading!!!

AND When something is in single 'quotes' it is a thought. That should make sense after you read.

PS Quick request

Ok, I can't decide who I like better as Mikenna. Yaya Dacosta who is pictured on chapter 1 or Tika Sumpter, pictured on chapter 10. Let me know who you can picture more in the role or give me your own suggestions.

"Protection from what? Each other?" I looked at all of them and realized that was exactly what he meant. The idea made me laugh. "You can't think that Jake would ever hurt me? He wanted me to do this; he wanted me to do anything to survive, remember? Other than the walkie-talkie thing I'm not that different. Being a little more vampire than before won't make him hate me." 'Right?'

There was a bang on the door, either a fist or a forehead. 'I could never hate you Miky. They want to do some stupid tests before they let me in.'

"Tests? What tests do you want to do?"

"How did you know?" Carlisle was confused.

"Jake told me. Now what do I need to do?" I was impatient and the last time I saw Jacob he was blurry and crying. I needed to replace that image with something clear and new.

Carlisle dashed to his desk and pulled out a medical bag and tray. As I sat on the bed he pulled out his tools.

"Ok, first I need to see if you have vampire venom."

I automatically opened my mouth and stuck out my tongue. He swabbed it, smelled the swab and then mixed it in a clear liquid. Nothing happened.

"No venom." He smiled. "Now if possible I would like to take a blood sample, if that is ok with you." I held my arm out. "Just a finger prick will be fine." His hand felt like ice to me, much colder than before, which meant I was warmer.

He pulled out a tool and pricked my finger. I heard the click of the tool and felt the pressure of the needle but it didn't even pinch. A tiny bead of blood stained the ridged of my fingertip but as Carlisle squeezed gently to coax more blood out nothing happened. He swabbed the blood away to show that the pinprick had already healed.

"Well that is interesting. You can still bleed but you also heal a lot faster. Lets try that again."

"No," I stopped him as he raised the tool. "Try a bigger cut." He looked skeptical. "Use a scalpel or something and make a bigger cut, that way you can get enough blood, test my skin strength and my healing speed all in one."

He nodded slowly, "Ok," he reached into his bag and pulled out a fresh scalpel. "It's a good thing you blood is even easier to resist than before."

'Way easier,' Jasper smiled behind Carlisle for the first time since I woke up.

'That's a relief' I smiled back

Carlisle pressed the blade gently to the skin on the back of my forearm. I felt the pressure but my skin did not break. He pressed harder until my skin finally gave, then he dragged the blade an inch leaving a thin straight red line. By the time he collected the blood there was no trace of a cut on my arm; not even a scar.

"Interesting. Your skin is quite difficult to cut and you heal immediately. One last test. I need all of you to leave the room please. I need to test her attraction to human blood."

Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie looked unsure as they left the room. I tried to catch a glimpse of Jake but Emmitt was in the way. "We'll stay over here." Alice said as she and Edward moved to the open window.
