All eyes flickered towards me, all bodies stood still and each voice went completely silent at the sound of Gio's loud voice. He repeated the same words before seeming to grow angrier as he received no responses. Don't get me wrong, I am not afraid of Giovanni DeLuca, but right now...he does look sort of terrifying.

I looked down, and noticed that I was still straddling Axel so I quickly removed myself from the position to make things less awkward. As I rose to my feet, I looked over at Gio who was fuming with anger. His jaw seemed to loosen up as I removed myself from hovering over Axel's body, but he didn't seem any less angry.

"Gio I-" I began to speak but I couldn't find the words. No matter what I say, he'll still be upset because of the promise I made to him this morning. The only place I was supposed to be was in bed. But, honestly, he should've known better than to believe that I'd lie there all damn day.

I've never been one to willingly stay idle.

"Boss, I- I can explain-" I looked over at the light haired man next to me who no longer had the demeanor of the strongest fighter.

Axel was now avoiding any sort of eye contact with me, he dared to even let his eyes land on me. I watched as he trembled under the vision of his superior, Gio.

"Shut the fuck up, Axel. If I ever see you within six feet of my girl again, you'll be six feet under. Got it?" I rolled my eyes as Axel didn't think twice before muttering a "Yes, Boss."

"Tessa, come with me. Now." he demanded as if he could just boss me around.

"No." I refused to take another order from him. I simply watched as eyes around the room widened and jaws dropped. To these people, Gio is a big, scary, mafia boss who will blow their heads off if they don't follow his orders. But, to me, Gio is still the guy who used to cuddle with me while watching old cartoons when I was sad. He's still the boy I grew up with. I don't fear him.

"Tessa. Now isn't the time to-"

"Gio, I'm not one of your minions, I don't take fucking orders from you-" I paused as Gio pinched the bridge of his nose followed by a shake of his head before he began walking towards me. I had no idea what he was doing until I was being thrown over his shoulder and carried out of the rec room.

"Giovanni! Put me down!" I yelled. He simply ignored my demands and quickly walked us into his dark bedroom.

"I don't think so, tesoro."

I heard the doorknob twist before he pushed the door open and turned the light on. My eyes slowly adjusted to the sudden surge of light in the room. In a matter of seconds, he pulled me off of his shoulder and threw me onto the bed.
