TESSA SARIANO

ONE WEEK LATER...

"Tesoro, please just lay down. You're still not fully healed. I need to know that you'll be okay while I'm working."

"Gio. I am more than capable of doing some things by myself. I'm doing better."

I sighed as Gio kept bugging me about how I need to rest. He hasn't stopped since I simply stood up to get myself some water. He told me that I have to lay down and that him or Marcela could get me some water. I, however, refuse to make Marcela do everything for me, especially when I can do it myself.

Gio seems to be afraid of me getting hurt again. His eyes are glued to me and they refuse to move. He's been looking at me the same way he looks at Tino when he's watching him.

Through all of this, through our entire relationship and all of its, I've never really stopped and looked at things from Gio's point of view. I mean, I was extremely hurt when he left me, when I thought he was dead. But, he was hurting too. It wasn't exactly his decision. Now that I'm thinking about it, his reactions make complete sense.

The entire time I was laying in that hospital bed, he was afraid to lose me. The constant fear has stuck with him although I've woken up and shown improvements in my health. While Gio now has a tough exterior and runs an entire mafia, I know how to recognize how he's truly feeling. Sometimes I think that I know him better than he knows himself and vice versa.

"Tessa, please. I have to go soon, I need to know you'll be in bed, resting." he let out a sigh of defeat.

"Fine, Gio. I'll lay back down."

"Thank you, tesoro. I'll be back soon. Marcela will bring you some water." he pressed a soft kiss on the side of my head while I stood still with my arms crossed.

Although I agreed to rest, as Gio asked me to, I'm not actually going to do so.

I refuse to waste anymore unnecessary time laying in a bed. I don't care if it's a hospital bed or Gio's extremely comfortable, extremely expensive bed. I need to get up and move. I need to at least attempt to feel like myself again.

Around twenty minutes had passed and Marcela had finally brought me my water. I actually didn't even want the water anymore, I just needed to speak with her.

"If you need anything else, let me know, cara."

(dear.)

"Thank you. Marcela-" she began walking away almost immediately after I thanked her.

"Marcela, wait!" I called after her causing her to immediately turn back around and come back into the room.

"Yes?"

"Gio is gone, right?" I double checked.

"Yes. He wants you to relax though."

"He's too used to getting what he wants." I rolled my eyes before strolling down the hall and turning into the room with my closet in it.
