The ticket

Paige's POV:

I was in front of my locker, getting my stuff for the day. I've replayed again and again the scene in Liv's room. I mean, yeah, I agreed to go to the match with her, but understand me, I agreed only because I wanted to prove her wrong. I mean, it's football! This is a men's sport, and I'm not a man! Or a boy. I don't even know how Liv likes that.

"Maybe it's just a phase that'll go away with time," I thought as I flipped my curly brown to my back and took the Math textbook of the locker.

"Morning," I heard her voice behind me.

"She really likes to do that," I thought. "Morning, Liv," I responded to her and turned back to taking my stuff from the locker.

"Here's your ticket for the game," she sipped from her tea cup and gave me the little piece of paper. I took it and looked at it. "Sunday, 8:30 pm," she told me the essential information.

"But you didn't have to buy it," I said and returned it to her. "I could've bought it myself."

"Let's say that this is an investment for the future," she joke and quoted the last part. "Here's your ticket," she put it in my hand again.

"Hey," Ava said from behind us, catching us red-handed. We looked at each other. "What's that?" she asked and pointed the ticket in my hands.

"Oh, it's just a ticket for my brother," I lied. "He told me to print it at school because we don't have a printer at home," I tried to convince her.

"And why did Olivia give it to you?" she asked, and I looked at her with a confused expression. "I saw you a few moments before," she clarified.

"Oh, about that," I scratched the back of my neck, trying to think about an excuse.

"She just gave it to me because I was curious," Liv suddenly said behind me. "I've never seen a ticket like this before," she also lied, and Ava looked at us with a suspicious gaze.

"Fine," she finally said, and I could see Liv taking a breath from relief. "What's the match, by the way?" she asked, and I looked at her, who was strangely intrigued by the topic. "Is it between some local teams?"

"Oh, no, Barça are coming to town this Sunday, and there will be a game against one of the local teams," I tried to explain from memory of looking at the ticket.

"Oh," she said, and I spotted her hand going to her coat pocket. "Nice," she finally let out, and I closed my locker.

"So you'll have to buy a jersey," Liv told me quite enthusiastically as we were walking to the group table with our trays.

"Why?" I asked, obviously confused.

"Because..." she looked me with an expression that was most likely saying "Are you kidding me right now?". "Football fans wear their team's jersey to their games to show their love for the team," she said. "Alongside with the scarves, flags, hats, and etc."

"But I'm not a football fan," I stated. "So I don't need to buy one," I said, proud from my answer.

"You'll soon be a Barcelona fan, don't worry," she somehow managed to put her hand on my shoulder. "You'll thank me for making you buy this jersey now and not in the future," I didn't answer because we put our trays on the table, which meant that we couldn't talk about football anymore.

"What are you doing this weekend, girls?" Ava asked us all. Me and Paige looked at each other.

"I have a violin lesson on Saturday, and I'll do my homework on Sunday," Ivy responded, not taking her eyes of the laptop in front of her. She had a lot of school work to get done.

"I'll be going to the cinema with my brother," Mia told us and sipped from her iced tea bottle.

"What about you two?" Ava asked us insistingly, which was really bewildering. I looked at Liv for I don't know which time the same day.

"I'll be studying," Liv told her, looking a bit up from her Biology notebook, seemingly focused in her work.

"And I'm watching a series and doing homework," was my answer. "The usual," I shrugged. "What about you?" I asked, and she shot me a glare as if she a wasn't expecting me to ask.

"Oh, uhm..." it seemed like it was difficult for her to answer. "I'm just staying at home, reading," she finally answered. Even though I was a little suspicious of this response, I decided not to ask.

"So you're telling me that I'll have to be done," I stopped to take some breath to continue. "2 HOURS BEFORE THE GAME!" I shouted to the phone version of Liv.

"Don't get it too personal," she told me in response. "It's gonna be fun, I promise," she tried to convince me.

"Okay, but I'll say it again, I'm agreeing to do this just to prove you wrong!" I defended my position.

"Okay, okay," she said, not caring of what I just told her. "See you in two days," she suddenly said and hung up.
