The soft sound of my phone ringing awoke me the next morning. Rolling over in my bed, I reached out grasping the unhappy device and pressing talk. "Hello?" I whispered softly and rubbed my head as I sat up a little leaning against the pillows. Pulling the covers up around me as I rested listening to the phone.
"Sang?" The crisp sound of Gabriel's voice cascaded through the phone and I couldn't help but smile as I rested my head on my pillow.
"Good morning Gabe." I whispered in reply and stayed tucked into the covers.
"Good morning! Did I wake you?" His voice had gone down a few octaves when he heard my whisper.
"You did." I stated as I let out a soft sigh but smiled. "An interesting way to start off the morning." I stated and sat up a little rubbing the sleep out of my scarred eyes. "What can I do for you? I hope we are still on for today."
I could feel a little nervousness slipping into my tone of voice. I had to admit meeting Luke and getting together with Gabriel again had been something I was looking forward to. The thought that they were canceling made her stomach churn.
"We are still on Sang. No worries." I let out a breath of air happy that they weren't canceling and listened to him as he continued. " Actually, I was wondering if you wanted to meet up earlier and maybe see a movie after with us?" Gabriel asked and I instantly relaxed laying back down into the comforts of my bed.
"That sounds fantastic." I stated and laughed a little. "Although I really can't see the movie per say but I would love to listen to one. It has been a while since I went to a movie theater."
There is a moment of silence before curses fill the background noise of the phone. I flinch and sit back up, suddenly uncomfortable, and wrap an arm around my legs as I rest my head against my knees. Biting my lip, I wait for the swearing to stop before I speak, my voice shaky. "I-Its okay." I state trying to recover. "W-We don't have to see-see the movie...."
"Sang... Sang hey..." I pause and listen to Gabriel's voice makes my body tremble. "I wasn't thinking. I am sorry." I heard him take a ragged breath as I rushed to explain. "The swearing was because I was fucking mad at myself not because of you in any way. Do you understand?"
I nod quickly and let out a shaky breath instantly replying. "Y-Yes!" I state and bit my lip hard unsure what to say in order to make things better. "I-I would really like to go see the movie..." I state again slowly taking a few breaths of air trying to calm down making my voice sound a bit more even.
"Sounds good." Gabriel states the happiness returning to his voice and I smile quietly. I am glad he is happy but I can feel my chest fill with anxious nerves. Shifting out of bed, I bit my lip about to speak when suddenly there is the sound of shifting on the other end of the phone.
"Cutie Bird what did Gabe just do? I have a feeling it has something to do with a little birdie." Luke cooed into the phone and I blushed letting myself relax against the side of the bed. Getting comfortable, I allow my legs swing over the edge of the bed.
"It-its okay Luke.... I just don't want him to feel bad about the movie... I mean... I know I can't see it but I can listen to it and it isn't something that I get to do often...." I can feel my anxiety level rising but I try to keep calm trying hard to keep the atmosphere happy.
"Don't worry about it at all Sang." Luke's voice is surprisingly serious and I instantly relax feeling my anxiety disappear. "Everything is all good. He just wasn't thinking and got mad at himself. No worries." I nodded again to myself.
"I completely understand." I stated and let out a shaky breath. "I am going to go get ready and I will meet you at the diner in an hour or so?" I pause waiting and hoping to get a calm response.
