The rest of the drive is quiet. Victor keeps his arms wrapped around me the entire time rubbing my sides and making me feel comfortable. His moss and berry scent makes me relax as well. When ever I had been with these boys I always felt so safe... so calm. I could feel my stomach start to twist as I thought of my past and hid my face in Victor's chest. They deserved to know what they were getting into.
Soon the car begins to crawl to a stop and I assume we are pulling up to Victor's apartment. Victor steps out front and I carefully follow after his hand slipping into mine as he carefully helps me out of the car. Surprised, I follow carefully keeping my hand lightly wrapped around Victor's hand just incase he doesn't like the gesture and wants to let go. He guides me through the front lobby of the apartment building and I can smell the posh scent of perfume over whelm my senses. I stay tucked into Victor's side since I don't know the surroundings well and can feel my shoes against the plush carpeting. Victor's hand gently slips around my waist pulling me closer making me making me blush.
We pause for a moment and I can hear the whooshing motion of an elevator moving up and down floor to floor. "Mr. Morgan!" A unknown voice calls out and I tense moving closer to Victor as he pulls me tighter. Who could it be now? I question and try to make myself as invisible as possible.
"It's okay it is my manager." Victor whispers quietly in my ear and places a soft kiss on my forehead. Feeling a little better I relax but I keep quiet not wanting to draw attention to myself. "Mr. Harson I am a little busy at the moment would you mind talking to me later." Victor states gently maneuvering me so that I am hidden behind his back.
"But sir your parents have been trying to schedule another concert for you all day." He states and I can hear the light buzz of the elevator and I quickly step in, Victor carefully stepping back with me. keeping me hidden from view.
Confused, I stay silent keeping a gentle hand on Victor's back letting him know I was okay. But why was it that he was hiding me from view? Deciding to stay quiet I listen to the other.
"Mr. Harson, I don't need to contact my parents at all. I have completed the one gig that I was required to complete as to the agreements of the court order. Now if you would excuse me." Victor takes a single step forward and punches the elevator button. My eyes widen. Court Order... I begin to feel myself tremble as I stay close. Not even a court order could stop people.
"But sir." Mr. Harson steps in the way of the doors making the elevator let out a loud beep and my heart jump. Victor's hand squeezes mine tightly in his and I know he has felt my trembling.
"Excuse me." Strong, comforting, and with a hint of Irish Spring Soap, Mr. Blackbourne's voice appears. "Mr. Harson, I have talked to you before. Please leave Mr. Morgan alone when I am not available. All scheduling conflicts go through me no matter what. Now please get out before I have to call security." Mr. Blackbourne's voice leaves no room for argument.
There is a long moment of silence and the buzzing sound of the elevator stops and then begins to propel us upward."Aggelle Mou?" Surprised, I tense and slowly step out from behind Victor and give a slight painful smile to Silas.
"I am here." I state quietly and Victor gently pulls me closer as I continue to tremble without control.
"I am so sorry Princess. I have had problems with him before and if he had seen me with someone..." I quickly squeezed his hand and gave him a soft smile letting him know it was okay. But I didn't say anything my voice to shaken.
"Mrs. Handseron." I quickly glance toward Mr. Blackbourne's voice and feel a gentle hand caress my face. "You did a good job. Let's get into the apartment." I nod trembling and stay still but my heart almost stops freezing as he continues. "I want to know what happened at the flower shop though."
My breathing stops for a moment and then I slowly force it out nodding. They needed to know. "Okay." I whisper and thankfully the elevator rings signaling we are on the floor. I quickly move out of the crowded space and pause allowing Victor, Silas, and Mr. Blackbourne to lead the way to the apartment.
There is a silence on the way there and I hear a quiet click of a key and a few lock licks before the door opens and the air shifts. A warm air quickly welcomes us in and I can feel Silas and Victor move in first before Mr. Blackbourne. I follow close behind my chest filled with butterflies.
Stepping into the apartment, I slowly and carefully remove my shoes and place them off to the side before placing my bare feet on the hard wood floor. I wait until the boys move down the hallway first before I continue after them. I can hear a few of the feet hesitate as they notice that I am not right behind them but I don't budge.
Carefully, I put my hands out and I move down the hallway my fingers lightly tracing the sides of the walls keeping me oriented. I move slowly making sure to take my time. My fingers run into a few frames hanging on the walls before I make it to the opening into the living area, at least I believe. Stepping out a hand lightly catches mine and I freeze looking toward Silas.
"There is a step." He whispers and I carefully move to the edge of the hard wood floor before stepping down onto thick carpet, Silas's hand in mine.
"Thank you." I whisper before continuing around the room and making my way to a large L-shaped couch. Moving to the corner, I carefully sit down and curl up. This was probably the great room since there was plenty of space and I could hear the slight echo coming from the kitchen entering the room meaning it was an open floor plan.
"Ms. Handerson." Mr. Blackbourne states as he walks from the kitchen into the living room his footsteps disappearing from my ears. I force a breath in and out before rubbing my arms slightly, looking toward the male's voice nervously.
"My name isn't Ms. Handerson. Or at least it wasn't originally." I state calmly looking down at my feet. I was about to tell them one of my biggest secrets. Something that I had never shared with anyone. Where they going to believe me? Were they going to be to scared? I pause for a second longer before I give in. "It was about five or six years ago when I became involved in a under-cover investigation held by the police." I paused my mouth becoming dry and I had to swallow a couple of times.
"I was a runaway at the time ... none of the police believed that it was important to fill me in... until it was to late. I ended up being the sole testifier at the trial." I let out a shaky breath. "And was then put into a program and they changed my name and my identity to hide me. Avery... the girl I work with is supposed to be an agent that is to be keeping me safe..."
I swallow hard again and feel myself tremble. "She hasn't been acting like a friend recently and I suspected that something was wrong..." I whisper my fingers twisting in and out.
There is a deadly silence and I quickly stand and begin to move when Silas's hands catch my waist and pull my back to his chest. "Take a breath." He whispers quietly into my ear. "We aren't mad. Take a breath." Tears quickly begin to slip down my cheeks and I curl tight into Silas's side trembling hard. Nodding, I manage a small breath.
"Miss." Mr. Blackbourne breaths out a held breath as well. "Miss. Sang thank you for explaining this to us. We are going to help you and see what we can do. I understand why you are so scared but for right now when you are with us know you are safe." Mr. Blackbourne's voice is comforting and strong not an ounce of fear can be found. "For right now I would prefer it if you would stay with one of us no matter where you are. We don't know who could be after you just yet but it seems like you are in danger. We will see if we can determine if it is linked to your past."
Tears slip faster and faster down my cheeks. "You won't make me leave?" The question hangs in the air.
