Point of View: Sang
Panic instantly takes over my chest as the car swerves once more throwing me into Luke's chest. Letting out a sharp breath, I cling tight to the male as his arms wrap tight around me. Swearing under his breath, I can feel Luke twist slightly, in his chair, as though he is looking back at the car which is following us. "Sang. I need you to listen to me. I am going to move you to the back seat. I need you to stay low and put your seat belt on. Okay?"
With a shaky nod, the car swerves once more and then suddenly I am being moved from the passenger's seat to the back. Ducking my head down as far as possible, I make my way to the back seat trying to stay out of view. Scared, I manage to make it into a seat before I am thrown across the car as we take another sharp turn. "Sang!" I hear Luke cry out as I am flung against a door painfully. Shaking my head to let him know I am alright, I scramble to put on my seatbelt and hold tight to the door and the seat as we swerve again.
The sudden sound of ringing cuts through the air and suddenly the smooth voice of Mr. Blackbourne appears. "Mr. Taylor is she al-" But before he can finish his statement, Gabriel starts to yell.
"WE ARE BEING FOLLOWED! I am at 12th." I can tell he is trying to keep the panic out of his voice but with the situation we are in currently I understand why it is there.
"Mr. Morgan I want camera's up. Now! Mr. Taylor and Mr. Korba, you and Sean get in the car! Mr. Coleman I am sending them to you along with Mr. Lee and Mr. Griffin. Keep your phone on. I am going to guide you through the city. Is everyone alright?" His voice is filled with worry and concern one he begins talking to us once more.
"Unknown." Luke states answering his question and I duck my head down as we make another sharp turn causing Gabriel to let out a string of swears. Dizzy, I tuck my head down next to my knees and try and calm my breathing.
"Mr. Lee is close Mr. Coleman. Just a little longer." Mr. Blackbourne states and I tremble hard as we take another turn. "Mr. Taylor can you see anything about the car that would stand out? Or the driver?"
There is a moment of silence as we turn once more and I am slammed against the door. Letting out a mangled cry, I can hear Mr. Blackbourne take a sharp breath on the phone. "Mr. Coleman take the next right. Now!" Suddenly the car spins and then stops dead in its tracks. My seat belt digs into my chest throwing me up against the seat.
I can hear the sound of wheels spinning in the distance and a long stretch of silence ensues. I stay still waiting and then a breath is taken on the phone. "Damage report." Mr. Blackbourne states and suddenly the sound of seat belts clicking off can be heard.
"Sang." Luke's voice is soft as I assume he begins to climb over the seats into the back with me. Gabriel's door opens and throws mine open in the process. Trembling hard, I very slowly allow Luke's hands to bring me back to an up right sitting position. Letting out a ragged breath, I rest my head against the seat as I feel Gabriel's knuckles caress my cheek.
"Sang is hurt." Gabriel states his voice is clear and crisp as he speaks his fingers moving to my shirt to lift it slightly. I can already feel the bruises forming where the seat belt was. Trembling, I let out a slow weak breath not feeling well and reach toward Gabriel who carefully pulls me out of the car.
My legs don't seem to hold me for when I am placed on my feet, I just crumple. With hands tightening around my waist, Luke lifts me out of Gabriel's hands and holds me in his arms. "Mr. Coleman are you alright to drive to Mr. Lee's and Mr. Griffen's apartment?" Mr. Blackbourne's voice wavers a little and I know he is concerned.
"Yes." Gabriel states easily his hand moving slowly over my back for a moment before we move back into the death trap of a car once more. Trembling hard, I stay silent as I curl tightly into Luke's chest.
As we begin to drive to Kota and Nathan's apartment, I can feel my breathing waver after every turn we make. Are they still following us? Will they find us? Who was following us? Was it him? Did I just put this family in danger by allowing them to help me? Thousands and thousands more questions poured into my head as we drove.
Once the car finally pulls to a stop, I hear the clicking of seat belts once more and the cool autumn wind rushes into the car to greet us as the door is pulled open. Luke never puts me down as he carries me from the car and suddenly the scent of spice washes over me. "Is she alright?" Kota's voice instantly breaks the silence as we move into the building and I stay tucked into Luke's chest trembling.
"Unknown." Luke whispers and I hear a door open. Dizzy, I let out a whimper and Luke freezes where he is. Gently, I feel a hand caress my cheek and I take in the soft scent of spice once more.
"Dr. Green will be here in a moment. Take her to my room." Kota states his fingers slowly disappearing from my cheek. Moving slowly this time, Luke carries me into Kota's bed room and I feel the soft comfort of covers located under me. Trembling, I slowly allow myself to let go of Luke's shirt before pulling my legs tightly into my chest.
Staying still, I feel Gabriel's hand slowly slip over my sides and guide me farther onto the bed. Letting out a soft whimper at the movement, I still force myself to move to the uncomfortable position. "It's okay." Kota whispers softly placing a soft hand in my own and I nod trembling hard.
"Do you know who it was?" I whisper my voice wavering badly but before I can get a response I hear doors being thrown open and yelling. Trembling harder, I stay still as the sound of feet rushing approach and the scent of cedar and citrus fills the air. Dr. Green. Hearing the other's leave the room and the door closing, I stay still nervous as the doctor takes his place by my side.
"Sang does anything hurt?" He asks quietly his voice comforting and soft as his hands move slowly up and down my back. Letting out a held breath, I push away the memories from this morning and focus on the present. With a slow nod, I slightly touching my side and then my head indicating where I was hurting. Instantly, I feel Dr. Green's hands on my forehead and then move down to my neck. Letting out a slight whimper at the pain, Dr. Green's fingers lightly caress my cheek. "It's okay." He coos in my ear his fingers lightly moving to lift up my shirt and remove it from my body.
Trembling harder, I try and lay still as Dr. Green's fingers move lightly across my skin. "Just bruising. It looks like you hit the car door a number of times but its okay. You might have a bit of whip lash as well but right now what I am most worried about is your fever." He whispers helping me adjust myself into a better sitting position.
But as I begin to move a dizzy spell hits me and I rush into Dr. Green's arms which wrap around me keeping me steady. "That's what I thought." He whispers placing two of his fingers against the base of my neck as I take gulps of air. "Your fever has gone up because of what happened. I am worried that it has gotten too high. Will you take some medicine for me Pookie? Please." Dr. Green's voice has dropped down into a quiet beg and I know that I can't refuse.
