Previously on Looking for the Light Through the Darkness:

"Bane is the one who is after us. He is a serial killer that has escaped from jail and has recruted the female, Avery, from the flower shop." Mr. Blackbourne explains to Axel after a dangerous car chase throughout the south eastern corner of New York City. Holding in his anger, he checks over an injured Kota in the back off Axel's car.

"And they want your bird because?" Axel states as he hands over the first aid kit and Brandon carefully shifts Kota who has more color in his face.

"She is/was his victim." Mr. Blackbourne states void of any emotion as he hands an ice pack over to Brandon to apply to a shaken and injured Kota. "She testified against him in court and put him away." Pulling out his phone, Mr. Blackbourne does a quickly check in with Sean.

"Gabe's stitches reopened. Cory has a twisted wrist. Victor and Nathan both have bruises against their ribs. Luke has a black eye." He takes a huff of a breath as another phone rings inside of the car. "Fucking shit, Raven says Silas is knocked out and Sang is unresponsive in the back seat."

"Got it. Get them here fast." Mr. Blackbourne hang up and quickly lifting up Kota an bringing him into the safe house.

"Axel I need you to be down stairs incase something happens. Sean is expected first and has Cory, North, and Victor in it. Priority is injured. Brandon I need you to prep ice and pain killers as well as water. Once Sean makes it up here he will want to know where Dakota."

Carefully placing Kota down on the counter, Mr. Blackbourne opens the fridge and grabs the first bottle of cold water he can find.

Opening it, he places it lightly at Kota's lips and tilt his head back slightly his eye completely flooded with blood from the gash. "Slow." He warns as he begins to take gulps and the male quickly slows down.

POV: North Taylor

Mother fucking shit. My mind races as I press harder on the gas and fly through traffic at unsafe speeds. I hear phones going off in the background but it is taking all of my energy and attention to loose this tail on my cars ass.

"Right!" Victor yells and suddenly we are skidding through a red light into traffic and down a narrow street the asshat within inches of our car.

With Victor tapped into the traffic lights, I originally thought this would be nothing but it seems as though the fucker must be a gear head because the car behind us never seems to move more than a foot away.

More than a foot away... shit.

"Vic is there anyone behind the fucker behind us?" I try to keep my frustration down not happy with what I'm about to do.

A second later I meet those fires and I grunt receiving the answer I was hoping for. "Hold onto something." A minute later I brace as I hit the breaks lightly sending the car behind us bumping hard into the rear of my car and then swerving and crashing into a large garbage bin off to the side of the road.

Doing my best not to loose control as the car behind us makes contact with us, I let out a long breath of swears as I hear grunts of pain from behind me as I quickly jerk the car to turn down some sudden sharp roads. Forcing a breath, I grip the wheel tight before turning down a series of tight streets and then back into the open.

"Report." I growl echoing the infamous Blackbourne check in.

"Laptop is cracked but working." Vic states his voice dropping a little with unease. "Sides might be bruised." He admits.

"Fine. Bumps." Doc states his voice shaken.

Nodding, I glance to Cory and my eyes widen. "Fuck Cory you good?" The male is bent over slightly in his seat.

"Good." He responds his voice barely more than a whisper and I glance back to Doc who is instantly jumping into action.

Taking another breath, my thoughts focus on getting us somewhere safe quickly when I hear a ping behind me. "Vic?"

"Coordinates to a new safe house."

Almost instantly a phone starts to ping at an alarmingly fast rate and we all seem to freeze startled by the sudden noise. Doc naps into action however and pulls out his cell phone to determine what is happening. "Fuck." The word seems to echo throughout the car. Doc was definitely not one for swearing so if he was uttering these "inappropriate" words, as Mr. Blackbourne likes to call them, then we were in some serious shit. "North," Doc barks his eyes glued to his phone for a moment more before moving closer to Cory "get us to the safe house. Now."

This was a demand I was more than willing to obey and quickly hit the gas. Glancing into the back seat, Doc rubs his face for a moment before hitting a couple of buttons on his phone.

"Left." Victor calls out and I quickly turn down a quiet street when Cory's phone goes off.

Grunting at all the phones going off, I can hear Doc updating Mr. B with injuries and with every name I can feel my rage growing more and more. These mother fuckers were going to pay when I got my hands on them. Taking another turn I pull into a small parking garage and I spot Axel standing off to the side.

"Injured first. Owen is taking care of Kota upstairs." Nodding, I turn back to the car and tug hard on the car door forcing it open. Meeting Doc's eyes, he motions to Victor as he helps Cory out of the car. Making my way to my brother's side of the car my eyes widen as I spot him struggling to stand.
