"Ceyda," Emre smiles at her as he walks into Can's office from the side door. He just found out she was in there. "Hi."
"Oh hi Emre."
"You waiting for my brother?" he asks, grabbing a chair and sitting down across from her on the other side of the coffee table.
"Yes I am."
"I heard you were here so I decided to stop by. He should be here soon." He looks her over. "Is it anything I can help you with?"
"Oh, no, it's just something about this evening. There's a meeting tonight with Mr Mckinnon and I came to inform Can."
"A meeting?" She nods. "He'll be delighted to hear he hasn't been shunned. He was pretty upset that he couldn't join us at the afterparty."
"Well, I hope he's free this time. Max has a very busy schedule, he's a difficult person to get away from work."
"As far as I know he's free. He won't refuse the invitation again, I'm sure."
Footsteps approach the office from the hallway and he looks towards the door as Can walks in with Deren behind him. "Ah, here he is.""Here he is," Ceyda smiles and stands.
Can takes off his sunglasses and puts away his phone. "Ceyda, hey," he greets her and gives her a quick hug.
"How are you?""Good. Where have you been? No one could reach you all morning."
"I had an important meeting to attend, my phone was on silent. Sorry." He looks at Emre and Deren. "If I knew you were coming I wouldn't have stretched it so much."
"No worries," Ceyda waves it off. "Emre kept me company."
"Just for a minute," Emre chuckles and looks at Can. "Ceyda has some great news for you."
"Oh?" Deren beams and looks at Ceyda.
Okay? Can turns to Ceyda as well, blinking in question.
"We're having a dinner meeting with Max McKinnon tonight."
Ah...ooh...that's uh...great and all...Can rolls his stones in his hand silently.
"That's amazing!" Deren claps her hands together. "Where are we going? Are we going straight from here?"
Ceyda looks at Deren and then points at her and Can. "It will be me, Can and Max."
"You three only?" Deren looks at Emre who shrugs.
Right...no, I have plans. "I'm afraid I'm busy tonight," Can informs Ceyda without much caring and walks past Emre and Deren to his desk.
"Busy?" Ceyda follows, frowning.
"Can?" Emre asks, lifting his brows behind her. Can glances at him as he puts his glasses and stones down.
What? Do I have to report to you lot? "I have something important tonight that I can't cancel." He shrugs off his coat and hangs it on the back of his chair.
"Can," Ceyda says through a stiff smile. "I set up this meeting because you wanted to meet McKinnon. The man has agreed to set time aside for us in his schedule."
"I understand, Ceyda," Can nods. "And thank you. I mean no offense, but this is really important. I can't cancel. I already said I would be there."
"Alright," Ceyda says dejectedly and frowns at the desk. "I'll inform Max then." Can nods again when she looks up at him. "I would say maybe next time but we'll see how it goes with this rejection." She sighs and turns. "I just came to inform you. I have things to do. I have to go now. See you." She wasn't happy about this turnout but it was her own fault really.
