"It can't be!"
Ayhan pops another popcorn in her mouth as she watched the movie on her phone. She was sitting with JJ at the pier.
"You said we were going to see a movie together," he says, stuffing popcorn in his mouth and looking around. "I thought you meant the actual cinema or something."
"We were going to do that," Ayhan shrugs, "but then I thought, what if Sanem calls me? I have to answer. Plus, this is nice too right? We're still together watching a movie."
JJ nods. "That's logical." Ayhan smiles and returns her attention to the phone. "So, they're at a cabin?"
"Yes," she sighs with a smile, "isn't it cute? They're in a cabin under the stars."
"Very," he jumps when there's a shot on the phone and stuffs more popcorn in his mouth, watching again.
"They've been trying to get together for so long, I think this is great."
"There's a roof if it rains?"
"Of course," Ayhan nods, "it's a house isn't it?"
"At least they'll be warm."
"Yes, and warm."
"Yes," he eats another piece of popcorn, eyeing her sideways. "Is there a fireplace? Or is he going to build a fire?"
"I don't know, but I'm sure he won't let her freeze," she chuckles. "That's so romantic. Watching the fire in each other's arms."
"Romance is important," he nods, "so is not catching a cold...you know, not getting sick." He shivers and picks up his tea, sipping it gingerly. "Staying warm...in a house with walls..." Ayhan doesn't notice his shivering and he clears his throat, putting his cup down. "Did you call her? When is she coming home?"
"No, I didn't. We can't call now," Ayhan frowns, "they deserve this time together I think. I can't call and interrupt them."
"I hope she comes home before it gets too cold, though. They're coming in from the mountains, and these places next to the water gets cold."
Ayhan eyes his shaking hand trying to put popcorn into his mouth and then turns to him. "JJ, are you shivering?"
"What? No!" he scoffs and shakes his head, his hands shaking more.
"Are you frozen?" she asks in surprise. Come to think of it, JJ hasn't moved a lot in a while.
"No."
"Let me give you my jacket," Ayhan starts taking off her extra layer.
"Don't be silly," he laughs and tries to lift her jacket back stiffly.
"Take my jacket, I'm wearing two."
"Don't be silly, no," he refuses and she pulls her jacket back on. "No," he says when she frowns at him in question. "I was sick for a few days, remember? It happens that I freeze up sometimes and then it looks worse than it is."
"Warm chestnuts! Get your warm chestnuts!"
"Warm - " JJ turns his head and looks at the vendor coming through to the side with his cart. "Warm nuts," he says and jumps up, running over stiffly. "Wait," he stops the cart and pushes his hands into the heat.
"Hello?"
"Hi," he nods at the vendor. "Oh my God, thank you."
"Are you okay? What are you doing?"
"What am I doing?"
"You'll get burned son."
"Oh," JJ snorts and waves it off with a shake of his head, "don't worry, I can't feel anything right now anyway. They are too numb to know hot from cold."
