Mevkhibe taps her fingers against the side of her glass, looking at the wall as she processes what Melihat just told her. "So, you're saying Can was with Sanem and Leyla with Emre?"

"In seperate cars. Fancy ones too." Melihat sighs deeply. "Just imagine how beautiful the wedding cars are going to be."

Oh Good Lord, Mevkhibe opens her mouth to tell Melihat that there was no weddings happening but Melihat keeps talking.

"We have to convince them to use Nazmi to do the flowers. Oh, it's going to look just like a fairy tale."

"My goodness Melihat," Mevkhibe huffs. "What are you talking about? There are no wedding cars and fairy tale flower arrangements. They brought them home, what is wrong with that? They are their bosses, they had that work party, all they wanted to do was make sure they were safe. They did them a favor. And me. I respect them for it." She nods and sips her tea.

"Then why didn't just one bring both girls? They were coming to the same place weren't they? Why split up and be alone, each pairing in a seperate car?" Melihat scoffs. "A favor? Really Mevkhibe?"

Mevkhibe lowers her tea. "Hm," she hums, frowning as she thinks. "So you..." She swallows. "You're saying they got picked up today in seperate cars too?"

"I didn't say that, but just think about it. If you think about it, it makes sense. When was the last time either of them loaded a buscard?"

"Last week."

"Oh."

"Who else saw them last night?"

"No one, as far as I know. You know I get a little peckish around midnight. But you know what people will say if they do find out."

"Whay will they say?" Mevkhibe snorts. "And they won't know if you don't tell them."

"You remember Gul's daughter? She took the bus every day and then she started working at that new place, got a car to drive to and from work. Remember? People started talking about her and the driver being in a relationship." Melihat chuckles. "Turns out it was nothing but people in this place like to talk and run their mouths."

Yes...'people'... Mevkhibe purses her lips. Gul's daughter may have been innocent but what if my girls - She cuts the thought off right there. "I hope their tongues fall off and rot..." she mutters.

"Relax Mevkhibe," Melihat waves a hand. "Let them say what they want. Don't pay attention to them. If they start talking, it's just because they're jealous. Which of them can say that they're lucky enough to have son in laws like Can and Emre? None. You might think it's a hex, but I don't. You're very lucky dear. It's all about perspective in my opinion, on fate and choices."

"What are you talking about now Melihat?" Mevkhibe groans, her voice cracking. People talking behind their backs was the most humiliating thing she could think of to happen to her family. And if those people started talking about how 'rich' her son in laws were - like Melihat - it would be eve worse. Her daughters were not gold diggers. She raised them right.

"Mevkhibe, relax. Honestly, it's not so bad."

"It is so bad, you put this in my head."

"You know," Melihat rolls her eyes, "if anything happens around here, I'm always the culprit." She stands up. "The tea is done. I'll make some more."

Mevkhibe grabs Melihat's wrist, her eyes closed. "Don't. We're not having any more tea, Melihat." Melihat frowns in question. "I've just about turned into a teapot I'm so full of tea. And I feel like I'm about to boil over." She takes a calming breath.
