"Hm," Ceyda hums, sipping the last of her Espresso. "Thank you so much for the coffee," she smiles and puts down the cup. "I would love to stay longer but if you don't mind Mrs Huma, it is getting pretty late. I think I'll head on home." Huma smiles at her. "It was a lovely chat though."
"Of course dear. We have to do this again very soon." Huma stands up with Ceyda.
"With the greatest pleasure," Ceyda agrees, getting her handbag and coat from the chair next to her.
"Just so you know, I'm planning a dinner sometime in the near future. I will let you know when. And the four of us can all have a nice time." Huma's eyes sparkle as she looks at Ceyda.
"The four of us?"
"You, me, Emre and Can," Huma shrugs like it was obvious.
Ceyda smiles but grimaces, turning to Huma. "I don't think Can will want to join us."
"Why not?"
"What I mean is, I don't think he'll join us alone. Sanem never leaves his side. And especially not when I'm around."
Huma chuckles, touching Ceyda's arm. "Oh honey, don't you worry about that," she waves a hand. "I will say though, she's right to see you as a threat...You are independent, intelligent, beautiful and successful."
Ceyda chuckles a little, blushing. "Thank you, you're very sweet," she says and then sighs. "But I'm afraid it's not enough."
"Your problem is that you give up too easily. You need to stop doing that and start fighting for my son."
Ceyda looks at her a moment and then she smiles. "You might be right."
"Of course I am," Huma scoffs, linking her arm in Ceyda's, leading her down the hall. "You go on home, I'll arrange the dinner and let you know. Alright? Leave it all to me." She stops halfway and turns to Ceyda.
"Deal," Ceyda nods, smiling. She hugs Huma one more time, kissing each cheek.
"Talk to you soon."
"Good night."
Emre waits until the door closes before he comes out from around the corner, and looks from it to his grinning mother who had all the signs of plotting around her like a halo.
Huma turns right away when she sees him, pushing her hair up and sniffing, heading back to the couch to avoid him. "Yes dear?" she asks before he can open his mouth to speak.
"Did Ceyda leave only now?" He didn't want his mother to know he heard some of the last bit of conversation.
"Yes."
"You've been here for over an hour." He walks through to join her in the living room. "What were you talking about so long?" he asks, sitting across from her.
"She's a remarkable woman. So classy and well mannered," Huma gushes. "I think she's a good fit for your brother," she nods firmly.
"Mother, Can is with Sanem," Emre says warningly. "I thought that maybe you were starting to accept that, especially after seeing you treat her so well tonight?"
Huma rolls her eyes and sits back with a pout. "I'm trying to, Emre."
"Are you?" Emre asks, his eyebrows going up. "Really? Because to me it looks like the only thing you're trying to do, is break them up."
"What?" Huma gasps and puts her hand on her chest. "I would never! All I meant to say, is that Ceyda is better suited to Can, that's all."
"Mom, Can is a big boy, he can decide what he wants for himself."
