I feel so incredibly luckily to have found this kind of love in a world devoid of all human life. I can't help but to think of all the life choices i've made that have led me exactly into Bill's arms. Theres no other way to describe it than... thankful. He is my reason to wakeup in the morning, he's my reason to try to find these answers, he's my reason to stay sane and alive.
We made our way into the room to find everyone else sprawled out on a bed talking about North Carolina
"Even if we don't find anything there, I think... I think this thing we see holds a lot more of the answer than we give it credit for." Zeke says as Bill and i join the conversation
"But does this thing have the ability to make everyone vanish?" i ask picking up a gummy worm from in front of Mia
"Didn't you say it knew your name?"
"Yeah but like come on, it's not too hard to figure out someones name."
"June, don't act like it's not capable of things." Bill says seemingly hurt by my ability to be so casual about the entity that traumatized him
"You're right baby. I'm sorry i didn't mean..." I reach my hand out rubbing his thigh, but i can hear the breath leave Tom's nose as he chuckles at what i've just called Bill. My eyes jump to him and i watch him roll his eyes. My gaze diverts to Bill to see if he has picked up on his brothers attitude, but he picks up a gummy worm and pops it into his mouth seemingly oblivious.
My glare shifts back to Tom, this is my first time really looking at him since our entanglement last night in the bathroom. I can sense him becoming uncomfortable as he falls under my death glare. I'm seething at the audacity he has to laugh at me, but more so at the audacity he has to do it in front of Bill. I hope he realizes i'm not the only one done for if someone were to find out, he would be right there next to me.
"I don't think it's human... or ever has been" Bill says after a few moments of chewing the candy in his mouth.
"...What makes you say that?"
"I-... nothing it did in particular... it's just the way i felt around it. Like it was... evil." Bill stammers
"I mean, it thinks you cheated it out of something... maybe it's angry" i add
"With all of us?" asks Zeke
"Well it's only attacked Bill so far." interjects Tom
"... so far?" Mia whispers under her breath
