I welcomed the darkness with open arms as if it was an old friend. We had been sitting in the outskirts of the town, hiding in the shadows of the trees for hours. I couldn't wait for nightfall. I was hungry for the secrets the town held and i was starving to know our next move.

We ditched our backpacks behind the supermarket, stashing them away for safe keeping. I made sure to take the coins out of my bag, tucking them next to my heart for safe keeping. I don't know what it was about the coins but they always made me feel so close to home when they were near.

All eight of us crept down the sidewalks, steering clear of all street lamps. The nighttime brought a cold front, leaving me shivering under my layers of clothes. I walked towards the library even quicker, hoping i would be warm soon.

"Here." Sloane whispers, pointing to a building across the way.

Library was read across the front of the massive brick building in large silver metal letters. The sound of our shoes hitting the pavement quickened as we approached the building. Tom reaches out, tugging on the locked door handle.

"Now what?" Asks Gustav, looking around to us worriedly.

The groups collective stares fall to me.

I sway my head around, thinking of any way to get into this building. I open my mouth to speak when i am interrupted, "No were not breaking a window." Zeke says flatly.

My jaw drops even lower, "I would never!!" I look around to the rest of the group for their support.

Sloane rolls her eyes, "Okay what was your idea then?"

I fall quiet, a smirk appearing across my face. "Okay, so what if that's what i was going to say?" I toss my head back, letting my eyes roll with it. I catch Bill staring at me. I nervously straighten up as butterflies start to appear from deep within my stomach.

"Someone could hear us." Georg points out.

"You got a better idea?" I raise my eyebrows, gesturing to the locked building.

"HEY! THE BACK DOOR IS UNLOCKED!!" We hear from around the corner. Our puzzled glances meet one another before falling to where Mia once stood.

We all run around the back of the building to find Mia propping the door open for all of us to enter the empty building.

"Good job love bug!" Zeke plants a kiss on the top of her head.

Tom and I's eyes dart to one another. "Love bug?" Bill murmurs quietly, his nose turned up in the air. Tom and i laugh softly as we enter the building.

"Okay spread out. Find new paper articles from 1985. That's the year the lab was founded." I command to the group, watching each one of them scatter in different directions.

As each of their backs disappear into the shadows i feel a presence behind me.

A set of hands are snaked around my waist, pulling me into someones embrace. I turn around, my nose being tickled by Bill's long dark hair.

"Hi." He whispers into the side of my cheek.

"Hi, Bill." I say teasingly, as if we hadn't been together all day already.

"I just needed a moment alone with you." I can hear the smile in his voice.

"A moment would never be enough." I whisper, standing on my tippy toes.

Inching my face closer to him, i brush my lips softly against his. His hands around my waist tighten as he pulls he harder into him. He lurches forward pushing himself deeper into my kiss. A soft groan escapes his mouth as he pulls me backwards.

He spins me around, placing my back flat against a large wooden bookshelf. I pull lips away, attempting to catch my breath. I feel him giggle into the side of my neck. A smile spreads over my face as i feel so unashamedly happy in Bill's arms.

"I FOUND THEM!" Gustav whisper yells from somewhere in the maze of bookshelves in the library. I look into Bill's eyes, my smile spreading wider.

Taking his hand in mine, i drag him through the halls of books. We finally spot Gustav, Sloane, and Georg as they turn through pages of large books containing old newspapers.

Bill and i pick a book off the shelf and begin to flip through the pages.

Sloane timidly speaks up from behind the large brown book. "Uhhh... June... Why does he look like you?" She turns the book around so that it faces me.

I stare back at the page. The title of the newspaper reads 'Tokio Laboratories founded by CEOs Alexander Moore, James Parker and Phillip Johnson.'

My eyes fall to the picture of James Parker. My heart begins to slam against the inside of my chest. It's like i'm looking into a mirror. This man has to be my biological father.
