"You're here early" April says to Owen

"Yeah, an MVC came in last night after you left. The driver had an open-book pelvis, so I stuck around" he replies

"You've been here all night?" Madelyn asks but before Owen can answer a nurse comes over

"Medevac just called. Hypotensive patient en route, possible multi-trauma"

Owen nods "All right, page Yang. Pierce... page Pierce and Grey and ask them to meet me at the helipad. Can you finish up here?" he asks April

"Uh, sure, yeah" she replies as she watches him leave "He's dying inside" April says to Madelyn

"Ah, he seems fine" Madelyn shrugs

"Well, sure. He's a soldier. He's stuffing everything down, but he needs a buddy. You could be his buddy" April suggests

"Nope. Why would I be his buddy?" Madelyn asks

April rolls her eyes "Oh, come on! How would you feel if I were the one who left? You lying awake at night in your empty bed..."

"What kind of buddy are you asking me to be?" Madelyn asks as she walks away slightly concerned

Madelyn walks into the conference room to fill out some paperwork only to find Alex and Bailey sat at the table

"You guys aren't waiting on the board meeting, are you? That's been postponed" she says

"Postponed? For how long?" Bailey asks "B-because Dr. Webber is recommending me to the board as the replacement for Yang's vacancy"

"He is? Well, we will address that when we reconvene" Madelyn says "Karev, you need something, too?"

Alex nods "Yeah, um, these are Yang's shares of the hospital along with a certified letter. She gave her seat to me"

"Oh"

"So, you can just hand off board seats to whomever you want? I mean, what about the members of this hospital? Don't we have rights? Don't we have a voice? What are the rules here?" Bailey asks as her and Alex follow Madelyn dow the hall

"I said I'll talk to Jackson and to legal. It's an unprecedented situation" Madelyn replies

Alex scoffs "It's not a situation. My shares are legit. I have them in my hand"

"And where the hell have you been?" Bailey says as the bump into Richard

"Well, I was..."

Bailey interrupts "Tell them, Richard. Tell them that I belong on the board, not Karev"

"Karev?" Richard questions
