Madelyn holds an ice pack to a crying Jo's bruised eye as she attempts to get to the bottom of what happened

"We were arguing" the intern sobs "He kept saying that he couldn't trust me anymore, that I was a liar, that I... that I lied about who I was"

"He hit you?" Madelyn questions seriously

"God, it just got so bad" Jo cries out "I don't know what's gonna happen now"

"Nothing's gonna happen" Madelyn reassures "You're safe. All right? You're safe here" she says giving Jo the ice pack as the intern nods slowly as if she's trying to believe Madelyn but she can't "Where is he now?"

"I don't know" Jo replies laying down on Madelyn's bed

Madelyn thinks for a moment "I'll let you get some rest. If you need anything... call me.You're safe, I promise and Lucy will be here all night" she says walking out

"What are you gonna do?!" Jo calls after her but Madelyn just makes her way to the bathroom and locks her self in so she can make a phone call privately

"Karev, I need a favour" she says down the phone...

After explaining to Alex what happened with Jo he immediately reassured Madelyn he would deal with Jason if she promised to deal with Jo which she agreed to continue to do

"She's asleep" Madelyn says to Lucy walking into the kitchen

"How is she?" Lucy asks

Madelyn sighs "I don't know" she admits

Lucy nods in understanding "I- I need to talk to you about something" she says

"What is it?" Madelyn asks curiously

"It's about us" she says "I-"

But the blonde is cut off by the brunettes pager going off

"Shit" Madelyn mutters "What were you saying" she asks trying to ignore her pager

"It can wait" the blonde reassures

Madelyn sighs rubbing her forehead "I'm so sorry, we'll talk as soon as i'm back okay? Oh and please keep me updated on Jo" she says grabbing her stuff and leaving

"Will do" Lucy mutters to herself

"This storm will bring in a lot of casualities. We're gonna need to make room for them, so let's discharge all patients that can be. Post-op and long-term patients are gonna be transferred to Seattle Pres. further inland. We're gonna bring in supplementals... water, food, meds, lighting. Uh, we're gonna be checking and refueling the backup generators. As for you surgeons, push, postpone, or cancel all elective procedures until after this storm..." Owen says
