"Isobel Stevens, where have you been" Madelyn asks approaching the blonde and embracing her in a tight hug

"I'm fine. I've been in Chehalis with my mom" the blonde replies "I was just telling Mer about Dr. Singer here" she continues pointing at the man in the wheelchair

"She kidnapped him" Meredith says

But before Madelyn could ask she was paged "I gotta go, uh good luck Mer, nice meeting you Dr. Singer and good seeing you Iz"

"You paged me?" Madelyn says approaching Jackson

"About the other night" the boy begins

"You paged me to talk about sex" Madelyn whisper yells

"No, I paged you to have sex" Jackson replies walking towards the girl with a smirk on his face

"What right here? At the nurses station?" Madelyn teases grabbing ahold of his scrub top

"I mean we could- or we could go to an on call room" Jackson whispers in her ear sending shivers down her spine

"Let's go" Madelyn says dragging the boy by his wrist

Madelyn is helping Bailey with a patient when Mark and Callie come over

"Hey, is your trauma patient stable for skin grafting? The one with the pancreatic duct rupture" Mark asks but before Bailey can answer Adele interrupts

"Miranda"

"Oh, Adele. Oh, I'm so sorry. I sent the chief into surgery. Do you want me to ..."

"What I want is for you to tell me the truth. I saw the way you handled him just now"

"I did not handle him. I j ... There was no handle ... we work together"

"You spend every waking moment together. You finish each other's sentences. You read each other's minds. You're more married to that man than I am"

"Yeah, but that's just because they're husband and work-wife" Callie says making everyone look at her confused

"Excuse me?" Bailey says

"The chief's your work-husband, and you're his work-wife. You look out for each other. You take care of each other. There's nothing wrong with it. It's like me and Sloan"

"Excuse me?" now it's Marks turn to be confused

"Nobody's talking to you. He's my work-husband, but he has a girlfriend, and I have a girlfriend, but there's nothing going on between us"

"I mean, there was at one point ..." Mark tries making Madelyn laugh

"You're not helping"

"Neither one of you are helping. Adele, I promise you, there is nothing going on"

"Something is going on, because he hasn't been in his bed all week"

"What? Really?" Madelyn and Mark both say

"The last time he acted like this ... disappearing, sleeping at the hospital every night ... He was with Ellis Grey. He may not be having an affair with you ..."

"He's not. I promise you. I promise you, he's not"

"Okay. But wife-wife to work-wife, someone is this hospital is sleeping with our husband"

And with that she walks away

Later that day Madelyn finds Dr. Bailey "Dr. Bailey, do you mind if I scrub in on the chief's ileostomy?"

"Yes, I do mind. That man is old enough to be your father"

Madelyn looks at the woman like she's insane "Yeah, no, not me, i'm not sleeping with the chief"

Before the conversation can continue Lexie comes over "Dr. Bailey, have you seen the chief?"

"No. Unh-unh. You don't need to be seeing the chief, either one of you"

"Okay, but there's something wrong with his emergency chole patient" Lexie says confused by the woman's comment

"Ok ... so you tell me, and I'll tell the chief. What's wrong with him?"

"He's yellow"

Lexie shows them both the patient "Oh. This is the yellowest man that I have ever seen" Bailey says

"Right?" Lexie exclaims

"He's, like, lemon yellow. Like mustard yellow" Madelyn says

"Hey, hey, we get it. He's yellow. I'm trying to find out why" Bailey questions

"Ultrasound shows ... dilated ducts. Which means obstructive jaundice, but the chief only took out the gallbladder. And we never saw any signs of liver disease or cancers, but ... could that mean ... that the chief accidentally clipped the common bile duct?"Lexie explains making Madelyn's mouth open wide in realisation

"Oh, my God"

"Okay, okay, stop ... Right now, both of you. Now did you actually see the chief clip the common bile duct?"

"No, of course not. But ..." Lexie says

"But nothing. That's one of the most serious mistakes a general surgeon can make, so let's not make this accusation lightly"

"It wasn't an accusation ..." Lexie tries again

"Uh, stop talking. Just get an E.R.P. To find the exact cause of this man's discoloration. And, doctors, if I find out that either of you has said a word about this to anyone, I will make sure that you are the ones who require emergency surgery" Bailey orders

After doing the repair on Richard's patient with Bailey and Lexie, Madelyn heads over to Joe's with Lexie, both girls talk for hours and hours, but out of the corner of her eye Madelyn doesn't fail to notice Richard drowning in drinks, after seeing him leave Madelyn makes eye contact with Meredith sat across from the girls they give each other a knowing look. Madelyn looks back at Lexie who looks like she's about to pass out from exhaustion "Come on Lex, i'll take you home" the older girl says, helping her up and driving her best friend home safely.
