The stand-off between Edward and Carlisle seemed to last for hours. Their glares towards one another were murderous and threatening. Eyes glazing over with black hues here and there, as if daring one another's inner demons to take control and start chaos. The air was tense and almost suffocating. The family - plus the bloodbag - watched on, concerned looks shared between themselves, unsure of the outcome this showdown would end in. Edward's hands balled into fists, and soon he broke the glare with Carlisle, unable to take the disgusted look in his father's eye. Carlisle merely nodded as if he knew something no one else did.

Edward let out a snarl, frustrated by the entire situation everyone had to put him in. Frustrated at the fact that his family were so hell bent on not letting Bella join the family because she was his bloodsinger. What difference was she from a mate?. His frustration grew when his gaze landed on Amélie who was still perched in Benedict's lap, a frown on her face, still clearly thinking about his vile words towards her, yet he still thought how beautiful she looked with a frown on her face. He hated how his family adored Amélie and not Bella. But he truly hated how Benedict ended up with such a beautiful specimen. He wanted her, and he deserved her. Edward quickly turned on his heels, unable to look at his family any longer. On his journey away from his family, he quickly grabbed Bella's wrist within his tight grip, pulling her with him.

"Hey! Wait! I'm not done with your family -" Bella kept spewing out complaints and words of protest, yet Edward merely ignored her until he couldn't take it.

"Well, they are done with you," Edward snapped at her. Bella looked up at him wide-eyed, confused as to where this came from. She made the proper decision of shutting her mouth. Edward continued his steadfast journey to his own bedroom, Bella following not far behind, although not willingly.

The family watched the two walk away. Everyone watched them carefully, as if one of them would turn around with a knife in their hand, ready to stab someone. Once they were truly out of view the family took in a gasp of relief. It was as though the entire tense atmosphere disappeared the moment the two left. The family were then left in comfortable silence for a moment more, that was until Amélie made her way off of Benedict's lap as well as out of his entangled arms. The families eyes followed her, curious as to what she was doing.

Amélie made her way carefully around the broken glass that littered around the tiled kitchen floor, making her way to one of bottom cupboards of the kitchen. Quickly taking out the dust pan and brush she made her way over to start brushing up the broken glass but the family were quick to make noises of complaints.

Amélie looked up at them with furrowed brows. "I just want to clear up the glass, before anyone gets hurt."

A chuckle as well as a few giggles echoed the kitchen. The family looked towards the open double doors at the end of the kitchen, there stood Jasper with Alice in his arms. A small smile graced both their features. The slowly made their way into the house, Jasper being sure to stay near Alice, afraid of his own control as he wouldn't want to hurt the human that was also known as the bloodbag as he didn't want to give up a forty year streak for an idiotic bloodsinger. And as he looked at the ginger haired beauty, he wouldn't dare to think of harming a single hair on his lil darlin'.

"You think a few shards of glass will hurt us lil darlin'?" He teased softly, not wanting her to feel tepid as this was still a new topic for her and it was easy to forget the little things.

It was then that realisation struck her features. Her cheeks tinted red, embarrassed at her forgetfulness. "I will still clean it up -"

"Not when you're in socks Amélie," Carlisle scolded softly, as a father would do to his favourite daughter. Amélie looked down at her feet, realising she was in only her blue Stitch socks, matching her dress of the day. Amélie gave Carlisle a sheepish smile. "I don't want to see you in pain."
