That was a week ago.
"Benedict."
Clouds had covered the skies of Forks for a week now. Dark grey clouds. They looked as though they would release a heavy downpour that could flood Forks within days. It made the town look as though it was depressing, although its residents would disagree completely.
Many enjoyed the cool and dreary days of Forks. Many found comfort in the drizzling rain and cool breeze, finding it calming and reflective. Much like Benedict was doing now. Staring out from his father's large office window. The room was rather plain. A white carpet in the centre with four white leather singular seats placed on top with a wooden coffee table in the centre of the seats and on top of the carpet. Over to the left of the room was the white desk with neatly placed accessories and patient papers. He had a few abstract paintings decorating around the room along with simple lilly flowers. Benedict stared out into the wet forest surrounding them, deep in thought.
"Benedict."
It had been a week since that incident. It has been a week since Benedict had spoken to Amélie. It had been a week since he had held the ginger haired girl in his arms. It had been a week since he had seen her emerald gem eyes. It had been a week since he had gone to their spot in the library. It has been a week of pure and utter hell for the two, all because Benedict was too afraid. Too afraid to bring her into more danger. Too afraid of losing her right after finding her. She had been hurt by his brother, someone so close to him who he thought was supportive of him, only to find out he was deceiving him to hurt her. He couldn't let her get hurt -
"Benedict -"
"Hm?" Benedict hummed. He looked up from his lap that held his fiddling fingers - it had become a habit since he had stopped talking to his beloved. He stared at the man before him with his dull, lifeless eyes. They no longer held that sparkle that his family loved - that Amélie loved.
"You need to stop doing this to yourself, Benedict," Carlisle spoke softly to his adopted son. "You are killing yourself by staying away from her."
"I am protecting her.." Benedict spoke in a timid voice. As well as his eyes, his voice was dull, not full of excitement like the boy had over the few days he had been speaking to his love. Anyone could hear the love his voice held when speaking about her.
"That was not your fault, and you know that Benedict." The blonde doctor used the same timid voice, trying to get the obvious information into his sons head. "It was Edward's"
"I was almost too late to save her from my brother, who i trusted and thought he supported me and was happy for me...what would happen if I was too late to save her from another vampire? Out of our Coven. It is better this way.." Benedict lowered his head again, watching himself fiddle with his fingers and the rings that wrapped around his long fingers so elegantly.
"Not by killing yourself!" The doctor voice raised. He had never been more frustrated with someone in his life. The fact his son was giving up on his life after finally finding his reason to live after nine hundred years. Carlisle sighed out of frustration before continuing to which Benedict listened. "The bond has almost been completed. From the first moment you saw her to the moment you held her in your arms, your mated bond will kill you if you stay away for much longer."
Benedict merely nodded. He did not care. He raised from the comfortable white leather seat and began his journey out of his father's house office. He opened the wooden double doors before pausing in his stride out. He turned towards Carlise once more. "Is there anything else?"
Carlisle hesitated. "You are killing her too." He noticed Benedicts' horrified state and took that as a chance to continue. "By staying out of contact without your love for so long impacts you both. As one cannot live without the other. She is going through just as much pain as you are."
