MARIA SAT ON this chair for two days, and hasn't leave it. She stayed by Ayesha's bedside until she woke up. Fortunately, the young woman suffered no further physical damage after her fall from the horse, Joel catching her in time. In terms of what happened at the cinema, Ayesha sustained quite significant damage. A two inches piece of glass pierced her stomach and her body was mutilated by other pieces of glass, which the nurses managed to remove.

Ayesha was dressed in a simple black tank top and jogging pants, the large bandage around her waist looking uncomfortable.

Maria was greeted by several grunts, causing her to look up at Ayesha, who was slowly waking up. Maria smiled before leaning over the bed.

"Hi." She says, relieved.

Let's face it, Maria was worried about Ayesha. She was afraid that Ayesha would probably never wake up and die in her sleep due to her unstable condition. She hasn't had a real night's sleep since Ayesha came home from patrol, only a little nap on the edge of Ayesha's bed from time to time.

"What happened? And why does my stomach hurts..." Ayesha tries to straighten up but a more than unpleasant pain prevents her.

"Woah, easy. Please lay back down, lady." Maria slides her hand on Ayesha's shoulder.

And Ayesha doesn't mind lying down again. She then waits for Maria to explain what happened, as Ayesha's memories are still somewhat hazy. All she remembers is that an infected attacked her by jumping out of a window.

"A piece of glass literally stabbed you on patrol after an infected attacked you, so Ellie and Jesse brought you back here and you fainted because you were loosing a lot of blood, but you're alright now."

And everything seems clearer, Ayesha remembers. Maria continues to talk to her, but the young woman doesn't seem to be listening, no, she's far too busy trying to understand how she was saved from that infected man.

And she remembers, the spores, the mask. The mask Ellie wasn't wearing when she ran to Ayesha's rescue, the spores she breathed in without coughing. She widens her eyes as she starts to connect the dots together. Ayesha springs from her bed while Maria frowns in confusion.

"Ayesha! What's up?" The short-haired woman asks.

"Ellie, I gotta find Ellie." Ayesha whispers, already breathless from only getting out of the bed.

The wound suddenly aching, she runs her hand over her stomach, holding it tightly before making her way out of her house while Maria tries to stop her leaving, but eventually gives up.

Ayesha quickly found her way to Ellie's house, which was quite a distance from the others. She rushes to the door before banging on it. Her breath is getting quite fast, simply because she's just walked several hundred metres with an injury, but above all because she suddenly realized that Ellie probably wasn't infected.

Seeing that there was no answer, Ayesha drummed on the door once more before stepping back and anxiously running her hand through her hair. Ayesha hoped no one was opening the door because Ellie had indeed been infected and they'd had to put a bullet through her head.

But Ayesha soon realizes that this is not the case when the door opens, revealing Ellie, safe and sound. Ayesha's heart skips a beat.
