"THIS MISSION CONSUMES everyone, Abby." Nora said, fidgeting with her fingers as she leans against the wall behind her.

The wolves found a place to sleep tonight without spending the night in the winter rain. The path became more and more hazardous, and there were fewer and fewer men. On the other hand, the infected were becoming more numerous.

"We left Seattle with twenty four men, there are fifteen left. We can't keep going." Mel says.

Abby just stared at the ground, her jaw clenched. She didn't want to hear them talk about this, about abandoning this mission.

"So what? We let those soldiers' life mean nothing by turning back?" Abby asks, her eyebrows raised as she looks at her crew.

"What we mean is that we're going round in circles. You can't even place where we are on a map." Jordan grumbles.

"We're getting closer, I can feel it." Abby says.

"What I can feel is winter, y Dios sabe if we don't find shelter ASAP, we're all going to die." Manny says.

Abby hated hearing her friends all quietly give up on the idea of this revenge quest. She'd spent the last two years hunting Joel down, becoming the best, so that Isaac would let her go. He let The Wolf go long before Abby, so why didn't he let her go long before too? Wasn't she good enough?

"We will find shelter, I promise we won't spend the winter outside-"

"But we're only in November! And it's already so cold. And The Wolf? We haven't heard from them since we left Seattle. They're probably just dead." Nora's words are harsh.

Owen immediately looks at Abby out of the corner of his eye, waiting for her reaction and knowing full well that those last words didn't please Abby at all. Owen hadn't said anything since earlier, which annoyed Abby who thought he was on her side. But maybe he shares some of the same ideas as the others.

Abby lets her arms fall down her body, her tongue passing over her lips as she sighs in annoyance.

"The Wolf isn't dead. We would know if they were. Isaac sent one of the best soldier, are you doubting his wisdom?" Abby tells Nora.

"I am not, this is just ridiculous. Why won't you tell us who The Wolf is? You drag us there, we endanger our life for you and yet you don't trust us enough to tell us who's The Wolf?" Nora scoffs.

"If we could tell you, we would. It's Isaac's orders, we can't say nothing." Owen finally steps in.

Nora replies only by rolling her eyes before leaving the room while the others remain silent.

They thought they were the only ones suffering from all this, but Abby is suffering a lot too. Every time her eyes close, the images come back. She's terrified, afraid to fall asleep and dream, dream of this nightmare.

"I'll go light up some candles to warm up the house." Jordan mumbles awkwardly before stepping back as he also leaves the room.

And they all began to leave the room, leaving Abby alone. She'd begun to hate being alone lately. Because it gave her negative thoughts free rein to take over.
