IT'S NO SURPRISE that the story of Ayesha discovering Ellie's little secret has reached Joel's ears. And the man decided not to let it get out - it's far too risky. So he decided to pay the young woman a visit.

It's true that Joel used to come and see her to make sure she was all right, but it's been nearly a week since Ayesha found herself in this more-than-disturbing situation, and the wound doesn't seem to want to heal. But Joel also had an ulterior motive.

He knocks on the wooden door, which Ayesha quickly opens, surprised to see Joel.

"Hey kid." He tells her.

"Hi Joel, can I do something for you?" Ayesha is confused.

"I am just checking up on you, can I come in?" He asks, a demand to which Ayesha can not refuse.

Joel crosses the threshold and Ayesha closes the door. Joel is a rather imposing man with a very dubious aura. He's a nice man, there's no denying it, but the rumors say he's a real beast when it comes to being on the loose.

We assume that only Tommy and Ellie can confirm these rumors. It must be said that it's not best to mess with Joel.

"How's it going? Are you doing better?" Joel asks.

"Well, I feel less tired after literally climbing down the stairs, but the wound is still not healing." Ayesha tries to sound positive.

"Yeah, Ellie told me about everything." Joel tries to bring up the topic.

Ayesha isn't stupid; she's understood why Joel has come. And she knows exactly what Joel is about to bring to the table.

"Yeah, I bet she did." Ayesha stifles a laugh before leaning against the wooden table of the living room.

"She told me you knew."

"Did she send you here to try to convince me not to say anything?" Ayesha starts loosing her patience.

Joel would have liked to answer in the negative. But that's not the case, Ellie actually sent Joel to convince Ayesha to keep the secret, Ellie thought Joel might have the right words to convince the injured woman.

"I am confused Joel..." Ayesha confesses.

"Yeah I get it but everything makes sense, she's just immune."

"No, what I don't understand is why is she still here? We can find a vaccine. Are you going to keep hiding the cure from everyone's eyes? And watch all those people loose their mind?"

Joel understands Ayesha's point of view, he understands everyone's point of view on this situation. The world might sacrifice Ellie in order to save the lives of thousands, but would Joel be willing to sacrifice Ellie for the world?

Heroes sacrifice their loved-ones for the world. Villains sacrifice the world for their loved-ones. Except Joel is not a villain.

"We tried but... But I couldn't let her go." Joel can't seem to find the proper words, but Ayesha understands everything.

"So just because she had to die for saving lives you refused? Do you hear how selfish you sound?" Ayesha stifles a laugh.
