ᖭི༏ᖫྀLISTENING TO MUSIC becomes immediately difficult during an apocalypse. So how to say that Ayesha was more than happy when she found an mp3 during a patrol a few months ago.
And she was even happier when she turned on the mp3, put on her headphones and started listening to music with sounds that spoke to her.
She didn't know almost any of the artists on this device, there was Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, NWA, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Kiss, several mixtapes by a guy called The Weeknd, a name that didn't speak to Ayesha unlike Michael Jackson. Everyone knows MJ, and Ayesha was delighted to see that almost his entire discography was on the mp3. Let's just say that whoever owned that mp3 had very undefined tastes.
But as Ayesha was listening to Michael Jackson's Thriller album, she was suddenly interrupted by someone knocking on her door. The young woman took off her headphones and stood up.
She made her way to the door before opening it and coming face to face with Ellie. The young woman wore her hair in a bun, as usual, with a grey T-shirt, jacket and black jeans. Then her converse, as usual.
"Hey." Ellie says before widening her eyes.
"Hi," Ayesha seems confused, "what are you doing here?"
Ellie didn't know what to say, it was as if she'd forgotten why she'd come here in the first place.
"Uhm... Just wanted to visit you, so you feel less lonely?" Ellie says and immediately finds it dumb, she hesitates to just apologize and leave, "I mean, you told me you felt bored and-"
"Yeah! I did say that, please come in." Ayesha smiles at Ellie before stepping aside, letting the brunette come in.
Ellie smiled back at the dark-haired woman, entered the house and faced the rather small and rustic, but quite decent, living room. There was a table with chairs around it right in the middle of the room, with a sofa to the left and an old television that Ayesha very rarely uses. To the side of the sofa was a glass cabinet against a wall containing china plates, glasses and dishes.
To the right of the living room was a wall separating the kitchen from the living area. Then, to the right of the kitchen and behind the table, were the stairs to the first floor. And finally, in one corner of the room was a white door leading to the garage, which Ellie assumed to be empty.
"I am sorry, it's a little dusty, I didn't expect to receive guests." Ayesha apologizes.
"It's okay. It's not as worse as mine. Or even worse, Jesse's." Ellie says with raised eyebrows as she turns to Ayesha.
The dark-haired woman stifles a laugh, remembering the first time she set foot in Jesse's home. And it was really messy, his house represents him perfectly. Ellie smiles when she hears Ayesha's laugh.
Ellie notices a vase, or rather a milk jug, standing in the middle of the table with three pink tulips bathing in water.
She sits down in a chair before Ayesha asks her if she'd like something to drink, to which Ellie replies that a glass of water will do. Ayesha then takes a glass from the glass cabinet before filling it with water. Meanwhile, Ellie takes a closer look at the room she was in.
