THE NEXT MORNING, Abby did find Joel and his brother Tommy with Ayesha's indications. After the two brothers had passed through the gates, Ayesha realized that there really was no turning back, and that the fate of everyone involved in this story would be sealed in a few moments.

Tommy and Joel enter the basement where the Salt Lake Crew had already set up shop. They didn't know who these people were until Tommy and Joel introduced themselves.

"And this is my brother." Ayesha recognized Tommy's voice as she waited at the closed door.

She hears nothing more, just silence. A silence far too heavy for her taste. Her stomach churns with every breath she takes. And she knew for a fact that her Jackson's friends had noticed her absence and that the town must be in an uproar right now.

She feels like she's going to throw up whatever's left in her stomach; except that she hasn't eaten anything in the last twenty-four hours.

Her trembling hand approaches the handle, and as it rests on it, images by the thousands run through her head. Everything she left behind, it all flashes in her mind.

She opened the door, and it was as if the person she'd been building for months for Tommy, Joel, Jesse, Maria and Ellie had just vanished in the space of one tiny second.

She left the mask she felt comfortable with behind her to put on the one that she tried to deny and keep a secret for so long.

Tommy and Joel don't immediately realize that Ayesha is here, she's right behind them and Joel finally decides to introduce himself, and immediately the atmosphere in the room changes. Everything becomes colder, icy cold. Everything is darker, like the night when the moon isn't full and the stars are covered by clouds on a winter's night.

Ayesha emerges from the shadows of the room, Tommy finally sees her, his eyes widening as a few words leave her lips.

"I am sorry." She says, she didn't lie. She meant every word, every letters and every breath.

"Ayesha?" Tommy worries, confused.

Silence.

A thud sound. And the room's spinning as Joel falls to the ground after Abby shot him in the leg.

And it all makes sense to Tommy, why Ayesha wasn't there this morning. He doesn't know what to think, or what to say. All he knows is that the person he trusted most had just betrayed that trust. Forever. But for a few moments, Tommy puts everything aside and concentrates on saving Joel's life.

He tries to run to his brother but is held back by Abby's friends, while Joel is dragged along the floor to the bay window. And Ayesha watches, feeling powerless. No longer in control. Her heart is pounding, her hands are clammy and she wishes this had never happened.

Seeing that Tommy was struggling, Nora approached him preparing to knock him out with the back of her revolver. Tommy met Ayesha's gaze for a moment, and it was like looking at a stranger.

"No!" Ayesha managed to say before seeing Tommy's body falling to the ground.

Ayesha drops to her knees beside Tommy's body, placing her hands on either side of his face.
