EXCEPTIONALLY, ELLIE AND Ayesha were patrolling together today. Winter was harsh and it was becoming difficult to keep warm during patrols. The horses were also getting slower and slower as the snow became heavier and heavier.

"Dina's going and Jesse too, and I am only going if you are." Ellie says, looking at the dark-haired.

Ayesha escapes a laugh from her lips as she turns her gaze to Ellie, trying as hard as she can to hide her satisfaction.

"The thing is..." She pauses, "I don't think I am going to the winter dance."

Ellie's face breaks down, her smile disappearing.

"You can't do this to me, babe." Ellie is already getting ready to beg Ayesha on her knees to come.

"I am sorry, but I'll be busy." Ayesha genuinely seems sad.

"Busy with what? What's more important than spending time with your girlfriend?" Ellie says sassily.

Ayesha was about to giggle, but Ellie's words kept repeating in her head. Girlfriend? Oh, wow. That was pretty big. And it had just made Ayesha's stomach turn.

"Girlfriend?" Ayesha asks, worried.

And Ellie had quickly noticed that Ayesha wasn't comfortable with it. She didn't know why and had never dared ask Ayesha. Maybe she was just scared. Or that she didn't feel like committing to a relationship in such a perilous world where love had an unstable place. But Ellie had always defended the apology of love.

"I mean," Ellie smiles at Ayesha trying to reassure her, "only if you want to, remember when I said I could be whatever you want me to be?"

And Ayesha thought she was lucky. She could live a hundred different lives and never deserve Ellie.

"I really like you, and I don't wanna mess up things by rushing them." Ayesha explains.

The truth is, she'd have liked to keep forbidding herself to get attached to all these people, so that what's going on with the WLF would seem less painful. She wished she could deny how she loved Ellie.

"Yeah, totally get it." Ellie reassures with a smile, and she tries hard to hide how flustered she was after Ayesha loudly admitted she liked her.

But Ayesha did notice Ellie's cheeks turning red as she smiled shyly. It was easy to make her nervous, and that satisfied Ayesha.

They arrive in front of an old garage and Ellie suggests they go and see if there were any supplies they could grab. A suggestion Ayesha hadn't refuse.

They dismount before looking for a way into the building. Ellie finds an unlocked garage door and calls Ayesha. They begin to lift the door, and Ayesha climbs underneath before finding herself on the other side of the garage.

But just as she was about to hold the door for Ellie, Ayesha was suddenly attacked by an infected, her eyes widening as Ellie heard the screams of the Infected attacking Ayesha. Caught by fear, Ellie lets go of the door and lets it crash to the floor.

"Shit!" Ayesha says before finding herself locked in.

She dodges the infected's attack before turning to see her assailant lurching towards her, she punches him in the face, he retreats but pounces on her in the next second, slamming her against a workbench.
