Just In Time Part 3

Selena lay on her sofa, scrolling through her phone. She saw a notification on her screen from Jay. She clicked on her messages, and then his name.

Hi, it was lovely to meet you the other night, sorry it's taken me so long to send you a message it has been a hectic few days. I am going to be upfront with you as I think it's best, to be honest. You are beautiful and sweet, and I'd love to take you out on a date and get to know you more, but I need to know if you are with anyone? I saw pictures of you and Zayn the other night and I don't want to get involved if you're interested in someone else. Xx

Selena sat up quickly, she started to type and then deleted it. Then started to type again, then deleted it. She thought for a few minutes and then began to type again. 

Hi, nice to hear from you, it was awesome to meet you too. No Zayn and I are not a thing. We occasionally see each other when I'm in L.A and go on a date or two but it's honestly nothing serious. To be honest I would end it in a heartbeat if we got closer and began dating. I think you are a great guy so I'd love to go on some dates with you and hang out get to know one another, and see how things go?!

Jay's phone buzzed on the table in the bar. He tapped the screen "she replied" he said nervously "What does it say?!" Matt asked. Jay picked up his phone and read it first. He then showed both Tom and Matt. "You lucky git, she sounds really into you" Tom said. Jay smiled "How did you manage to get to go on a date with Selena Gomez" Matt laughed "Matt do you remember when he constantly watched that music video of hers, argh which song was it" Tom said "mate he used to watch all of her music videos and her interviews non stop which one you talking about" Matt laughed "ok...ok..please don't tell her that but to answer your question. I don't know, how the hell I played that one off. But I need to take her on a really fucking phenomenal first date!" Jay laughed.  He went on his phone and messaged Selena back. 

J: Yeah, I would love to. That sounds great. When are you back in NYC?! X

S: I'm back in two weeks. I'll message you when I land and we can plan something from there. Xx

J: Sounds great, looking forward to it. Xx

A Week Later

Jay woke up in his new apartment, today was his debut for the Ironworkers, he got out of bed and showered. He got dressed, grabbed his kitbag and boots, as well as his gum shield, and left for an early training session before the match, after grabbing some breakfast at a local cafe. He checked his phone on the elevator down and saw messages wishing him luck. Including one from Selena, he smiled and replied. Since that evening a week ago, they had been speaking non-stop on Instagram. 

A few hours later

Jay ran onto the pitch with his teammates following him out. He saw his family watching with Tom and Matt. He smiled and gave them a small wave. During the match Jay was playing amazingly, he had scored a hat-trick in the first twenty minutes and assisted four other tries. Jay was running down the field with the ball, until a forward picked him up and threw him down on the floor, causing his head to bang hard on the ground. He was cold out. Everyone looked on concerned for Jay with his family and friends worried in the stands as he got stretchered off. 

Jay started to slowly open his blue eyes, "where am I?" he asked "In the locked room. You got knocked out in the match darling" Emma said holding his hand. Jay tried to sit up "Ah ow!" he grunted "Don't move sweetheart, let me go and get Jack" she said, before she went to go and get the team doctor. "Mate if it makes you feel any better, you were phenomenal" Tom said "Yeah mate you did so well" Matt said. "You were incredible son you did a great job" Kenneth said, his hand oh his sons head "Thanks" Jay said, as Jack and the team manager Phil walked in "Let's have a look at you then" Jack said as he began to do cognitive tests. "I think maybe we need to take you to hospital so they can keep an eye on you for the first 24 hours. It was a big knock to the head and better safe than sorry" Jack said. Jay agreed reluctantly. Before they took him to the ambulance, Jay asked Tom to tell Selena as he may not have any signal and he agreed.

With Selena

Selena had just gotten back to New York, she was unpacking her clothes into the wardrobe when her phone lit up, with a message from a t_felton. She became confused and looked at the message. 

Hi Selena, my name is Tom and I am one of Jay's best friends. He's taken a really bad hit at his game today and is on his way to the hospital in East NY. I thought I'd let you know as he may not have a signal and as it's a concussion I doubt they will let him look at his phone a lot of the time. I'm going over there now so can keep you updated if you'd like. 

Selena read it and then replied. 

Hi Tom, thanks for letting me know. Do you think it would be okay if I visited him? 

Tom replied

Yeah, I'd think he would love that, I can meet you outside. Message me when you are outside.

Selena grabbed her coat and called for one of her cars. 

Half an Hour Later

Selena pulled up to the hospital and got out, she saw people outside slowly pull their phones out and take photos. 

She looked around and then saw a man with dusty blonde hair smiling and waving. He walked over to her and said in a British accent "Hi I'm Tom, Jay's friend" he said "Hi I'm Selena" she smiled and shook his hand "Nice to meet you, follow me I'll show you to Jay's room" he said. Selena then followed Tom into the hospital
