Just In Time Part 18

Jay and Racquel came back with the drinks. The girls thanked them and they all began chatting. Jays arm around Racquel and her hand on his knee. He watched as she spoke to her friends still in awe of her. He knew they had only known each other for a short amount of time. But he was falling hard and fast.

Racquel excused herself to go to the bathroom and Courtney joined her.

"Thanks again for coming tonight" Ashley said "No it's my pleasure" he smiled. "So you and Racquel you seem really into her" she continued. Jay smiled widely "I am really into her. She's incredible" he said. "Can we ask you a question and we don't want to offend you it's just for our peace of mind" Selena asked. Jay nodded "go for it" he said "so we just wanted to make sure you have good intentions with our girl. That your not dating her to get back at or with Selena. Or that your not like one of them guys who tries to date a whole friendship group..." Ashley said "yeah we just want to look out for our friend" Selena said. Jay nodded, he was a bit offended but he understood that they were just looking out for their friend. He had a history with Selena so if course they'd be wary. "I promise you hand on heart that Ive only got good intentions with Racquel. I'm not a player and definitely not a cheater. I don't do shit like that. I only get into a relationship if I see myself in a long term relationship. To be honest I've never met anyone quite like her and I'd move mountains to make sure she's happy. Shes incredible and beautiful and I just want to get to know her better. It's early days but I'm really falling for her. Obviously I know we've got a past but I don't want there to be any animosity between us. I want to get on with racqs friends as I know how important your friendship is to her" he said.

Selena and Ashley looked at each other and smiled. "Yeah your right Jay. I don't want any animosity either. I want us all to be friends. I've moved on and you moved on. So what we went on a few dates and it didn't work out" Selena said. Jay smiled "exactly" he said, just as Racquel and Courtney came back to the table. "Did we miss much?" Courtney asked "you guys didn't interrogate him did you?!" Racquel asked "No we were just making sure he's a good guy. And he is. We approve" Selena said. Racquel kissed Jay "he's not just good. Hes the best" she said. Jay put his arm around her again and they carried on the night. Jay sat and watched soberly as he was driving.

After driving home and saying goodbye to the girls. Racquel drunkenly stumbled into Jay's apartment. He chuckled and got a glass of water and painkillers for her. "Here. Take this" he said. He then got a pizza and put it in the oven for her. Racquel kicked her heels off and lay on the sofa with a blanket. Jay sat beside her and she cuddled into him. He put his arm around her and they put on a reality TV show that she liked. After a while the oven pinged, Jay got up and walked to the oven and got the pizza out. He put it on a plate and gave it to her. "Thanks baby" she said. After she ate and had the painkillers and water. She fell asleep on the sofa, he gently got up, picked her up and took her to the bedroom. He unzipped her dress and lay her down. He put the duvet over her and went to turn the hall light off. "Jay" she murmured. He kissed her head "I'll be back in a minute" he said.

He walked out turned the TV, lounge and hall light off and walked back to the bedroom. He took his jeans off and got in beside her. Whilst he was gone she managed to take her dress and bra off and it was in a pile next to the bed. She was fast asleep but reached for Jay as soon as she felt him get in. He wrapped his arms around her and she cuddled into chest as he fell asleep.

Jay woke in the morning to the sound of Racquel being sick in the bathroom. He got up and walked over, he crouched down took her hair and held it for her. She wiped her mouth and flushed the toilet "urghh I feel like shit" she said as he rubbed her back. He kissed her shoulder. She put her head in her hands "I told you them last sambucca shots weren't a good idea" he said. "I just want you, crap food, bed and trash TV today" she said. He smiled "we can do that" he said.
