Just In Time Part 30

A few days later

Racquel woke up the morning of her birthday, she became confused as Jay wasn't there. She saw a note beside her.

Morning my beautiful girlfriend, for your birthday I have laid out a scavenger hunt for you. You'll find me at the end but along the way there will be little gifts. Hurry up I've called Ashley and Courtney and they are on their way to keep you company along the way. I love you so much. Jay xx

She smiled excitedly, she was so lucky. She jumped into the shower and got dressed ready for the day. She walked downstairs and the doorbell went. There was a man at the door with a bouquet of white roses. She smiled and thanked him. There was a card that read.

Your first gift. A rose for everyday I have loved you.
The first clue. Your next location is at our favourite breakfast spot.x

There was a knock on the door. Ashley and Courtney came in "hey girls" Racquel smiled "hey girl. Happy birthday!!" Ashley said "yeah happy birthday Racq" Courtney beamed as they hugged her. "Omg these flowers are beautiful" Ashley said. "They are aren't they" she said. Courtney read the card "ooh first clue" she said "you guys are in on this aren't you?!" Racquel asked suspiciously. "Of course we are!" Ashley laughed. "I'm glad you two know what's going on" she laughed "Racq you are going to love today" Courtney smiled. "Now what's the first clue" she said "it's at our favourite breakfast spot....which is Blue Daisy" she said "let's go then" Ashley smiled.

Courtney drove over to Blue Daisy. They arrived at the restaurant and Ashley went to the counter and told the waitress, that Jay had reserved and pre booked their meal with the gift. The waitress smiled,commented how she'd love her boyfriend to do this nodded and she said she'd bring it over.

The waitress brought over the breakfasts. She gave Racquel hers and then also a wrapped gift. She smiled and opened the present, it was a necklace that she had wanted for ages. Courtney helped her put it on "it's beautiful" she said. The two girls also commented on how much they loved it. There was a card inside the present, she picked it up and read it out.

Enjoy your breakfast beautiful. I hope you like the pretty necklace but in my eyes there is nothing prettier than your face.
Your next location is your favourite salon. I've booked you and the girls a hairstylist and pedicure, all paid for. Everyday being with you feels like I've won. x

Racquel smiled. "He is the absolute best Racquel" Courtney said "yeah he's the sweetest" Ashley crooned "I'm an incredibly lucky girl. He's such a sweet amazing guy" she said blushing "so wheres the next place?" Courtney asked after taking a sip of her drink "My favourite salon is Denour. So we'll head over there once we've eaten this" she said "this is so fucking cute Racquel" Ashley smiled.

They arrived at the salon. Penolepe, Racquels usual stylist walked over and greeted them "Hey girls, follow me and we'll get you sorted" she smiled. 

Two hours later. 

Penelope walked out with another package and a card. Racquel thanked her and opened the gift, it was two tickets to St Lucia, leaving the next morning. She gasped, she had been speaking to him about going for a while. "Oh my god" she said "Oh wow" Ashley said as she read the tickets. "I am so jealous" Courtney said. Racquel then looked at the last card in the envelope

The third and final clue is all about you, come to the place where you grew. Here you'll find me, maybe on one ????. The last word is blank but come and find me (the last word in the sentence rhymes with the blank word). Racquel came confused "the place where I grew?" she said "Ooh maybe your parents house?" Courtney said "Oh yeah good call" she said. They said goodbye to Penelope and go over to Racquel's parents. 

Ashley got in the back of the G wagon and texted Jay. 

Ashley: On our way dude, ETA is 10 minutes away.

Jay was in Racquels parents kitchen fixing his shirt, he took a deep breath. He had just gotten a text to say Racquel was ten minutes away. Geroge walked over to him "you feeling alright son" he said "Yeah just nervous..." he said "I remember that feeling, its a big question. But I also know my daughter and I can tell she loves you by just the way she looks at you and the way she is with you. She will say yes. So just breath and enjoy the moment" George smiled. The men both hugged "Thankyou George" he said "I will be honored to call you my son in law" he said "Guys we need to get in position" Selena shouted from the yard. They shook hands and Jay walked into the garden. Benny walked over and gave Jay the flowers and the box "you ready man?" he asked "as i'll ever be" Jay said. "You've got this bro" he said with a smile, and patted his shoulder.  He looked over at the garden, it looked amazing. There were fairy lights and a trail of white rose petals leading to a blanket where Jay would be getting on one knee. "Thankyou everyone it looks amazing!" he said before giving them all a hug and walking over to the area. Selena, Benny Gill and George had spent a few hours this morning, making today special for Racquel and Jay. They had bought champagne and booked a table for later at Racquel's favorite restaurant.  Selena and Benny had flown in from Benny's gig yesterday in Paris to see them get engaged, which was going to be a huge surprise to Racquel. 

Selena walked over to him as he was packing back and forth "you okay?" she asked "Yeah just nervous" he said. "I get that, but she'll say yes. She fucking loves you dude" she said "Thankyou," he said, looking at her "for what?" she asked "For being so cool about us when we first got together. She was so nervous to tell you and I know your opinion and blessing means so much to her and if she didn't have it. I don't think I'd be here, I don't know if we'd be together" he said. She hugged him "You are so welcome Jay. Honestly you've shown me over the last year how much of an awesome guy you are. Thankyou for constantly looking after my girl" she said. Benny ran over quickly"Selly you got a text they are gonna be here in like a few minutes," he said. Selena and Jay pulled away "Good luck man" he said as he took Selena's hand, she smiled "Good luck, she'll say yes!" she said before they ran back to the house, to hide.

The girls pulled up into the gravel driveway and drove to the house. They got out, Racquel's mum came out and hugged them "hey ma" Racquel said "Hey sweetie, I have been told to give you this" she said and gave her one last card. It read.

You made it to the final task, but there is a big question I want to ask. Come to the thee and you'll find me and see everything you mean to me. But this you must do alone, as this is just about me and you. Just for us two, as I want to show you how much I love you Xxx

Ashley and Courtney hugged her and then walked over to the house, as Racquel walked over to the yard, she opened the gate and saw Jay. The garden looks amazing, fairy lights and white rose petals were leading to a blanket with a bottle of champagne and two glasses on it. She became saw Jay and smiled. He walked over to her and kissed her softly "hi" he said, placing a hand on her cheek softly "Hey you" she said. He pulled away took her hand and led her up the garden to the blanket. He cleared his throat a little and turned round to look into her eyes. 

"So you are probably very confused about what the scavenger hunt was about, but I wanted this to be a day to remember, its not every day you turn 31" he joked as she smiled "Well the real reason why all this was done was because I wanted to ask you something. Racq you are my everything and I can't imagine a day when you're not by my side. I love you so much and I want to be with you for the rest of my life" he said as he got the box out of his pocket. He got down on one knee, Racquel gasped, he took her left hand "will you marry me?" he asked, as he opened the box. She beamed "yes a thousand time yes" she said. He smiled and he slid the ring on her finger. He stood up and kissed her passionately, she returned the kiss. They hugged one another tightly. Jay then got the bottle popped it and poured it into two glasses.
