Just In Time Part 6

Jay shut the door behind his friends, he turned around to see Selena looking at the view. He smiled at her and walked over, he placed his arm around her waist and kissed her cheek "you okay?" he asked gently. She smiled "I'm good" she said "Do you want a drink or anything, food maybe?" he asked "Both sounds good" she said smiled, as she intertwined their fingers "So I've got steak in the fridge. If you are down for that? Maybe with some 'fries'" he said "I'd love that" she smiled. "Alright I'll get it started now" he said before kissing her cheek and letting go of her hand. Selena followed him over to the island, where Jay got the steak out of the fridge. Jay's iPhone buzzed on the island after he had gotten the steak out he saw, it and turned it over. Selena looked at him confused "It's my dad's agent saying my dad is asking if I'm okay, apparently big shot can't message me himself" Jay said shaking his head, while chopping up vegetables. Selena looked at him, he smiled "if you wanna talk about it? You can" she said "Ni I don't want him or his agent to ruin tonight" he smiled and winked at her. Selena nodded "okay!" she said "maybe another time but tonight, I just want to spend time with you and not worry about anything else" he smiled gently. Selena nodded. Jay turned the heat down on the vegetables and walked around to Selena, he lifted her head and kissed her softly "sorry, it's just my dad and I have a complicated relationship and yeah" he said. Selena stood up and put her arms around his neck "It's cool, I get it" she said. He just pulled her in and hugged her and she cuddled into him.

After they had eaten, Jay was packing the dishwasher "Thank you so much for making dinner Jay" Selena said. Jay smiled "You are more than welcome, Sel" he said with a wink. Selena suddenly got butterflies in her stomach. Jay closed the door on the dishwasher and turned it on. Selena looked at her phone "shit is that the time, I better get back to my apartment" she said. "Yeah to be honest I've got training tomorrow so I better get to bed" he said. The couple kissed goodnight and Selena left Jay's apartment. Jay smiled as he closed the front door.

Selena walked into her apartment and took her shoes off. "where have you been?!" Ashley asked from the kitchen with her eyebrow raised. "Nowhere, just at Jay's" Selena said blushing. "ooohh Jay!!" Ashley teased "shut up!" she blushed even harder.

For the next two months, Jay and Selena spent every moment they could together. However, Selena always knew in the back of her mind once she wrapped up filming she would be going back to L.A as she had an album to finish and other work commitments. She didn't want a long-distance relationship as she knew she wasn't in the position to do that, it would be unfair on her and unfair on Jay. She knew what she had to do.

The night before Selena leaves for L.A

Jay was getting ready to go out with Selena, he was so happy. He couldn't believe he was dating Selena Gomez. He felt like the luckiest guy in the world. Little did he know all that was about to change. 

There was a knock on the door, Jay walked over and opened it. He smiled "Hi, your early" he said before kissing her softly. Selena smiled tightly "Can we talk?" she said "Yeah of course come in, do you want a drink or anything?" he said "No i'm good thanks" she said before sitting on the sofa "oh this looks serious..." he said before walking over and sitting next to her. Selena sighed "Jay, I like you and the last two months have been amazing! But I am going back to L.A tomorrow and I just don't think it would be fair on either of us to keep this going. I just think we should call it a day now, before either of us gets hurt" she said "Your joking right...right??" he said. Selena looked down and shook her head. Jay nodded and bit his lip "oh...right" he said before standing up, he walked over to the window "So i don't get a say really? You've decided we can't make it work" he said "I'm just not in the right headspace to be with someone who i've only been seeing for two months to go into a long-distance relationship with" she said. He nodded "If you think that is what's best, then I guess that is what it will be" he said. Selena stood up and walked over to Jay, she kissed his cheek "goodbye Jay" she said before walking away. As she left his apartment a few tears started strolling down her cheeks.
