Just In Time Part 11

Jay walked in from training. He noticed a note under his door. He opened it and it read.

Going to be back around 9 is you fancy coming over. I'll be waiting. R x

He smiled, it was already 7:30pm. He put his stuff away, put some food in the oven and went into the shower, to get ready.

After getting dressed, fixing his hair. He opened the bottle of wine and got two glasses out and lit some candles. His phone then buzzed, it was Racquel.
R: Meeting finished early, just getting in the apartment elevator now xx

Jay grabbed the flowers he bought on the way home from training and walked to the elevator.

The elevator door open and Racquel looked up, her face lit up seeing Jay waiting for her with a bouquet of roses. She walked out the elevator and kissed him "what are these for?" she asked "it sounds like you've had a tough day wanted to make you smile" he said with a big smile. She kissed him softly "it gets better, follow me" he said as he took her hand and led her to his apartment. He opened the door and Racquel gasped a little. "Jay! You shouldn't have" she said as she looked at the candles and wine in two glasses on the kitchen island. Racquel hugged him "your perfect" she mumbled into his chest. He chuckled "your the perfect one....I just wanted to show you that I'm serious about us. Whatever happens with Selena you can always depend on me" he said before she kissed him. She beamed and wiped a few happy tears away "Thank you Jay you don't know how much that means to me" she smiled. He kissed her head softly. "Your so welcome" he said. "I was thinking we could order in or we could go out for food? It's upto you" he murmured. "Staying in sounds amazing" she said her arms still around his waist. "Okay let's do that then" he said as he lifted her chin and kissed her softly.

Jay and Racquel were sat on the couch watching a film. Racquel was cuddled into his side, her hand on his chest the other playing with his hair. She hadn't been this happy in a long times, Jay was perfect and at the moment she couldn't see herself being with any other man. But the thought of telling Selena that she was dating her ex, was horrible and filled her with dread. She didn't want to betray her but what she and jay had was special. Yet she couldn't help but wonder, if Selena and Jay never broke up. Would he look at her twice, or would he have just been happy with her best friend.

She looked at Jay who was fully into watching the film. He was so handsome and sweet. She had hit the jackpot. But she needed to ask him for her own selfish reasons. "Jay" she said "yeah?" he said. "Can I ask you a question" she said "sure love, anything" he said putting the movie on pause. She took a deep breath "If Sel had never ended things with you, would you have looked twice at me?? Like she's Selena Gomez. I'm nobody in comparison" she said "so basically what your asking is what would've happened if Selena and I never broke up? Would I have been interested in you" he said his eyebrow raised. She nodded. "I think...I wouldn't be with you right now. And id be very confused as I'd have this amazing girlfriend. But I'd be falling in love with her best friend ?? And you'd not want to be with the guy that broke your best friends heart. So no I don't think we'd be together but I think I would still have the same feelings. Your beautiful and kind, more than I could ever hope for and it may to soon to say this but I would be falling for you in every alternative reality there is, even the ones where we don't end up together." he said.

Racquel was speechless. She just put her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply. She couldn't of asked for a better answer than that. That was all the reassurance she needed, to let herself fall for him.
