Just In Time Part 26

Jay walked into the house after lunch with his mother. His phone then rang from an unknown number. "Hello?" he said. "Hi son" a male voice said. "Hi pops" Jay said "how are you? Career going alright" Kenneth asked "I'm good thanks, yeah got a coaching job with USA rugby. How are you?" he asked "oh wow I'm glad son...yeah all good. I don't know if your mum mentioned it but I'm in LA next week if you want to meet up"  his dad asked hopefully. Jay nodded "yeah sounds good pops" he said "alright I'll let you go son. I'll ask Ann to send you over the details. I love you son" he said "....I'll talk to you later" he said and hung up. Jay felt terrible but he couldn't find the words to say I love you too back to his dad. He did love him but he was so hurt.

Jay sat down on the sofa. He was exhausted, he went on his Instagram and saw he had another message from Fiona.

Jay,

I just wanted to say, I completely understand if you want nothing to do with me. I abandoned you and I will never forgive myself for it. If you can find it in your heart to give me a chance it would be so appreciated.

Jay then started typing.

Hi Fiona,

Wow. Thanks for reaching out, it honestly lovely to hear from you. I've always wondered about you and where I came from. I don't have many memories of being with you. I'd love to get together, there's a quiet cafe on the outskirts of LA, we can meet there?

Jay put his phone on the couch and put the TV on. He sighed and ran his hand through his curly hair. His phone then buzzed.

Jay,

Yes I would love that. Please give me the address and when you'd like to meet.

Jay and Fiona arranged to meet the next day at 1pm at the cafe. He put his phone on the coffee table and lay back on the couch and wiped his eyes. Today had been a busy day, he was nervous to meet Fiona and he was also apprehensive to reconnect with his dad. He looked at the time it was only 4pm. Racquel was working till 7 tonight. He sighed, he just wanted her to come home. All he wanted right now was her.

Jay decided to get changed and go for a run to clear his head. He began a six mile run, it felt good to be out running again, he hadn't been able to in new York as there was so much hustle and bustle and he didn't manage to find a good running route. He ran along Santa Monica pier past the broadwalk and along the beach. He loved the feeling of running on sand. Soon enough he arrived back home, jumped into the shower and put a pair of shorts on and a t-shirt. He looked at the time, Racquel would be home in just over an hour. He went on his phone and ordered her favourite dish from their favourite Chinese takeaway and got a bottle of and wine and put it in the fridge. He knew Racquel would've had a busy day with lots of meetings and stressful events. He wanted to make her life a little easier.

Half an hour later

Racquel walked into the house exhausted, she smiled as she smelt food coming from the kitchen. She walked in and saw Jay plating up food from the takeaway. She bit her lip, she never found him so sexy to when when he was in the kitchen. He looked up and smiled at her, "hey beautiful" he smiled. Her heart fluttered everytime he called her that.  He walked over to her and hugged her, she returned the hug and nuzzled into his chest. She always felt so safe in his embrace like nothing could hurt her and she knew Jay would never let anything happen to her. He kissed her head "I ordered from Cosmos and after that I'm gonna run you a nice bath, then we can watch any movie you want..I made sure to get popcorn and m&ms" he said. She looked up at him, into his eyes and smiled. Her heart fluttered again. He kissed her softly and she returned it, putting her hand on his cheek as his hands on her waist. "Thankyou baby" she smiled "my pleasure" he smiled and kissed her again softly.

They say at the table and told each other about their day. Jay was telling Racquel about that he replied to his biological mother and how they were meeting tomorrow. He also told her about his dad and how they were meeting up next week. Racquel told him about her day and all the meetings she had, how stressful they were but also how exciting they were. Racquel and Jay finished and they helped each other clear away afterwards. Racquel interlocked their hands "you know how you were gonna run me a bath? Ive got another idea that involves taking out clothes off" she said raising an eyebrow. He leaned in and kissed her passionately, she smiled into the kiss, then pulled away. She took his hand and led him to the bedroom
